Replacing my four year old N30 with this N50 was needed as the N30 had had its day

The N50 pro is certainly an improvement as it operates faster, battery life is good, it looks great, the user interface is great and the speakers etc. are a definite upgrade

However, the phone had a habit of restarting within the first few days of usage which unerved me a little. It appears to have stopped now, perhaps updates on Android I'm not sure, but it worries me a little that when needed it may fail

My much loved Xiaomi Note 8T was no longer charging so I needed a new phone quickly. This offering from Doogee was keenly priced and sounded good on paper. whilst it quickly became obvious that this is a more basic phone than it's 4 year old predecessor I've stuck with it, and got most of the annoying little kinks sorted out. The first issue I encountered during set up was the lack of British English available from the settings, I went with US English to get it going. After enduring an American voice and the lack of £ sign for several weeks I knew I had to find a solution. Fortunately returning to language settings revealed the required UK language. The other major issue I encountered was the impossibility of connecting the phone to my PC to transfer photos, etc. You could connect it and reconnect it as many times as you like but it just wouldn't allow data to be transfered. After a bit of searching I found a very helpful gentleman from India had added a video to Youtube explaining how to set up debugging and get a phone to connect properly, another problem solved. Compared to my old phone it is a little sluggish doing some things, eg screen rotation, however as my phone needs are fairly basic I'm happy to keep going with it. The N50 looks much like any other smart phone these days, personally I rather like the colourful plastic back, the camera is ok for daylight use and it has lots of storage space. For the price it is a good deal, though for me a 4* phone rather than top marks.

I am updating a review I wrote after about 2 weeks. I am now at about 2 months ownership. I realise this is a cheap phone but I am very disappointed. It doesn't support contactless payments and battery life isn't brilliant. If the screen gets used a lot, it will just about last for a day. Some apps crash and won't run until you restart the phone. This includes the browser. It also seems to struggle to starts apps periodically. The phone randomly restarts itself too. As you have to enter a PIN before the phone will work if you don't spot this the phone won't be working when you actually thinks it's on.

Unfortunately it's not fit for purpose and I will have to replace it. The other positive reviews on here really do puzzle me.

This is a great folding stand which holds your Phone/Tablet steady on your desk at any viewing angle you want. It doesn't raise the tablet more than a few inches off the desktop, but you can tilt and swivel the holder to have it at the perfect angle.

The tilt (front/back) can actually go nearly 300 degrees, but if you don't want the phone/tablet to fall out, you can go from 0 degrees (straight up and down) to to 90 degrees (parallel to the desktop). What I liked best was that there are no fixed stop points, you can move it smoothly to any angle you want.

One thing to note is that an 11" iPad Pro can be a bit top heavy, so you have to adjust the the up/down riser to make sure that the iPad doesn't make the stand tip. For example, the 20 degree angle I liked using required me to set the up/down riser so the iPad was no more than 1" above the desk. Since a phone is not so top heavy, the up/down riser has more flexibility on raising/lowering it.

The 360 degree swivel works really well to point the phone/tablet anywhere you want. This does have stops about every 9 degrees where it clicks and holds in that spot. This allows it to stay in the rotated spot you desire even when you are tapping on the screen to use the phone/table. The balance is nice, it is easy to swivel when needed, but firm enough to let you use the device.

Another nice point is that it has padded cushions in any spot the device touches so it will not scratch the device, even though the rest of the device is made of aluminum.

When not in use, the device folds flat and is just about 3/4 inches high, so it is possible to take this with you in your bag.

Overall, I was impressed with the device. It works well and has sturdy construction which should last for quite some time.
