Great bunch of pens
If you are looking for a box of pens that are reasonably priced, and you don’t really care if one or two of them go missing, then this is the perfect box for you. We got them for our kids as they were completing their national fives and we are constantly misplacing our expensive pens. Had them in blue, but always prefer them in black. Great for a Desk. Just clear out all the old rubbish pins that you have laying around and get these ones

TL;DR: Buy this ballpoint pen if you intend to write a reasonable amount.

SUMMARY
Got a ten-pack of black 0.4mm/1.0mm types in May 2024, works out around GBP 0.33 per pen. Likely the best ballpoint pen available, could spend many times more for an inferior pen. Have used for decades and they write well. Take ages to dry out (years, maybe decades). For note taking (at work or in general matters) these are ideal.

RARELY LEAK
Occasional failures from long term storage with nib(?) point up and ink leaking into the containment area, if that happens it is rare for the ink to escape and it is obvious from a glance that a (generally slow moving) failure is happening. If memory serves, a pen of this make that has *never* been used does not fail this way.

Do not recall them leaking heavily into clothing, obviously don’t leave these pens in clothes when washing or storing clothing. The ink is (in my experience) permanent, ie not washable.

DRAWBACKS
These pens do not clip into pockets well and the caps can go astray, but am willing to accept these inconveniences as the positives outweigh the negatives.

ALTERNATIVES
The only modern pens that are superior in some aspects are the ones you can rub out the writing with a sort of rubber, good for note taking, annotations, composing text / calculations etc (ie for formal studying), but they have their own set of problems and are sort of an alternative/equivalent to pencils.

SENTIMENTALITY
I preferred the old Bic pen caps that were closed, but the “new” style is safer.

Like the idea of fountains pens, but these Bic jobs are classics for good reasons.
