I recently replaced my car which came with wired CarPlay rather than the wireless version I had in my last car. I found connecting the phone every time I got in to be a bit tedious, so after a bit of searching I settled on buying this adapter.

Installation was easy enough although I did need to update the firmware to get it working properly (easy to do, instructions included) and I also had a couple of hiccups until I realised my phone was connecting to both the car and the CarPlay adapter at the same time so was trying to send audio to both at the same time - again an easy fix.

In use it is excellent - zero lag, no issues with audio streaming - in fact it works just as good as the OEM system did on my previous BMW. It was so good I ordered a second adapter and fitted it to my partner's Ford Focus where it also works without fault. I've only had one connection failure which was fixed in 5 seconds by unplugging the adapter and plugging it back in.

Overall I can't recommend this highly enough, and it makes the use of CarPlay an absolute no brainer. If you need an adapter then buy this one.

I am delighted with this product! I drive a Ford Puma and was only able to use Apple Car Play by having my phone plugged in by use of a USB wire. It got in the way a bit and after looking up different wireless options, I am so pleased to have chosen this product. It connects pretty much instantly as soon as I start my car and I’ve been left impressed by the visuals and sound - no lagging or anything. This is quite a handy device, and means I can use AirPlay for short journeys (that were never worth the hassle of plugging in USB cables). I now use this daily. It works exactly as you'd expect. Pairing/installing was easy. I'd say I've had to unplug / plug back in less than a handful of times in 3 months of daily use to reset some weirdness. That's more reliable than my car's head unit.

The only flaw, which is annoying, but not broken, is that there's an audio lag of at least one second (sometimes longer). So when you press play or pause it takes a while to take effect. When Siri prompts for voice input you have to start speaking at just the right time (or Siri will stop listening, or will miss the start). You get used to it, and it by no means stops me using the device for short trips. For any longer journey, I tend to plug in with cable, so my phone doesn't heat up too much whilst wireless charging (wireless AirPlay can use up a good chunk of battery).

I'd still recommend this device; it's really handy, and the lag is something you adjust to / get used to after a little while.

I should note the lag is just an audio lag. No issue with responsiveness of clicks or navigating the screen/UI, just noticeable when Siri prompts for voice input.
