Diameter size problem
The AA size batteries (called cells really) arrived well packed and fully charged. I haven't recharged them yet but having an interest in radio controlled models I have a suitable charger that should be OK. The 'cells' look neat and reasonably well made and have a capacity, was it 2.4 Ah?, that could only be dreamed of with the older NiCad type.I bought these partially for a Maglight AA size torch being more convenient and better than disposable cells. But, there was a problem with one of them, it was too large a diameter to fit the torch. The pictures, I hope, show this, one with a small book balanced on top, showing that the cell won't go in. ...and one with the torch held upside-down showing that it won't come out. I didn't push the cell in completely because I wouldn't have been able to get it out again!In many applications this slight oversize wouldn't be a problem but, as you can see, in some applications it is. Amazon were very good about this and sorted the problem out for me, but keep this in mind if your use of these cells is a tight fit.

This is the second batch of these I bought. They are easy to charge, I actually use a solar panel and a USB powered battery charger so I can keep them topped off when I am off grid. Even with the power fluctuations from the solar, like when a cloud hits it they have not been damaged and still work quite well. Price is great and longevity of the first set has been good for over 2 years with none of them yet to fail so I can assume this set will be pretty much the same. When I charge them I am getting about 825mAh so just a smidge below the rated capacity, well within tolerance as far as I am concerned. Now are there better and more powerful batteries out there...yes but for my use this is perfect.
