This SIM card is good for 30+ EU countries. I ordered it for an upcoming trip to Iceland in March 2024, so I haven’t used it yet.But I wanted to understand how it would work ahead of time so I sent a few questions to travSIM, and they responded promptly.From what I understand, a few days before my trip I will need to activate the card on their website. I then get a confirmation email along with an Iceland phone number. After I arrive in Iceland, I put the travSIM SIM card into my phone. For 30 days from activation, I get unlimited free “local” calls and texts (send and receive), simply using my mobile phone’s built-in telephone and texting apps.For receiving and making calls/texts back home to North America, I need to use a VOIP (Voice Over IP) app such as WhatsApp or Google Voice. This latter method will use the SIM card’s 12GB of data.You’re also supposed to be able to monitor your data usage via the “Three App”.Summary:I like the fact that I have a SIM card already in advance of my trip. It’s one less thing that I have to worry about when I arrive, and it’s usable from the moment I get there.We’ll have to wait and see how things actually go when I go to use it. If there’s any discrepancies with the above or if I experience problems, I’ll come back and update this review.Since I haven’t used it yet, I’m giving it 4 stars for now.
