TLDR: Original one wasn’t giving accurate heart rate readings especially when sweating. Replacement works fine, customer service is awesome.

Edit: the company has some surprisingly great customer service and are replacing the item for me.

Received the replacement today and it works, I will update with sweating as I was at home today not doing a lot of activity but it was accurate with my light activity and resting HR. I did track manually as well with a stopwatch and my carotid which I can feel strongly. It was usually the same or within 2-3 beats of what I counted manually.

I’ll update when I get active and sweat a lot to see if it’s still giving accurate readings. I do notice it didn’t read well if I had it under my sports bra band, maybe it was pressed into my skin too tightly. I moved it down lower over my ribs and got accurate readings still as long it was in full contact of my skin. I did have to re-moisten the band sensors a few times as the reading updates would go a few minutes and I’d see it wasn’t connected but still making full contact with my skin.

Otherwise I can’t complain, it is significantly better than the first one I ordered and returned. I’m glad the company has such incredible customer service. They reached out when noticing my inaccurate monitor experience and replaced it for me. I can see it works now and the first was a one off. Also the band gives a lot of room for adjustment so I think this would fit a fair amount of people.

I've used this hrm for 10 rides so far with my iGPSPORT BCS300, works great! The first time connection was super easy, and it automatically connects every time I turn the bike computer on. Not bad for $50! Will update this review if I have any issues.

I bought this to replace my Polar H7, since the strap was aging, frequent pairing issues, signal drops. This Powr Labs HR monitor pairs easily and accurately with my Polar Pacer watch. Have had it for a couple months, so far no connection issues. The only minor drawback is the SportArt fitness machines seem to only be HR compatible with Polar monitors.

Lots of positive reviews for this item, mine included. Much more affordable than some of the other name brand devices and just as durable and easy to use. I use it for indoor rowing and its held up quite well. Love the price, love the product. Highly recommended.

This is my second time buying this product, and it always connects and disconnects during my workouts. Last one I bought worked perfect but I lost it. This new one doesn’t work at all.

This is a great product if you're trying to measure your heart rate. I not only use it for measuring my heart rate while working out, but I also used it to estimate my HR max, by doing a 20 to 30 minute stress test. I've found that overall, it's much more accurate than the smart watches, and far more consistent.

But there are downsides to it as well. You need to find a good app that works with this, because this isnt offered as part of the package. I use something called icardio, since it's free on the Google playstore. There's also the mapmyride app and other options but they might not be free. Another thing to watch out for, is that you should dampen the electrode patch or your skin before starting the measurements. Otherwise, you will get much lower readings that don't make sense. There are some youtube videos that you should watch, to get this device set up properly. I found it helpful.

For $40, this is a fantastic device.

Works great. Strap it on and go. Once you set it up on your peloton the first time through bluetooth connection on the screen it just auto connects everytime afterwards. It seems very accurate. I've used it already 20 times and the battery is still at 100%. So far, I'm very pleased with my purchase..especially for the price.

Update: After posting the review below, the seller reached out and offered a replacement. The replacement HR monitor arrived quickly and works and connects well so far. If this unit makes it to a year, I will increase review stars.

-
The HR monitor worked well and had few problems connecting over the first six months. I purchased this in July 2023 and since around December-January, it's been increasingly problematic to pair with Zwift or Strava. I changed the battery twice in the last month which didn't help.

So at this point, given the product doesn't even last properly for a year, I would not recommend it.

For reference, I use it at least once a day, nearly every day. And have not had connectivity issues with my other bluetooth devices.

Saw in another review that they had success after installing Myworkouts app. Just received the HRM today, installed Myworkouts and now have it functioning. Wasn't sure my cheap ($30) LG Rebel 3 L18VL Android phone supported Bluetooth LE, which seems to be required, according to Myworkouts. A Google search revealed I could install a little free utility that would find out. So, I downloaded and installed and ran BLE Checker, which said it did. Finally found the Setting to add a Bluetooth LE device in Myworkouts and I was set, after the basic configuration, which was simple and intuitive. I'm running a trial workout right now, lying in bed with my laptop. Assuming this HRM is accurate, it's all I could ask for, and the myworkouts app seems great. Gonna give this a trial run on my road bike tomorrow!

This uses cheap replaceable CR2032 3 volt batteries, which I always have on hand.

This thing is much smaller than I anticipated, which is good. It's comfortable, I've been wearing it about 2 hours.

I turned off battery optimizations for the Myworkouts app in android settings, at the suggestion of the app, so that things don't get strange or fail altogether if the phone's screen turns off or battery levels get below any threshold. All my other apps will optimize battery drainage but I don't want that to happen for this. I want it to work perfectly no matter what.

Edit next day: First day using while actually exercising. Road bike to and from gym, 5 miles each way, also kept Myworkouts app running in the gym. Worked great. Until I receive a bracket I ordered from China (!), I'm using a small bungee to hold my phone to handlebars, which works acceptably. Had no trouble reading my HR with this setup during my bike rides. I'm loving it! Had great rides and I was very pleased to know the answer to the question that I'd had in my head for months, "I wonder what my heart rate is right now" while riding to/from my gym.

Edit a few months later: The battery died already. I couldn't find a contact for Powr Labs and so I posted at their Facebook page, trying to avail myself of their 2 year battery replacement offer. That was several weeks ago and as far as I know, they did not respond. Anyway, I'd bought 15 CR2032 batteries a while ago, so I'm good.

Edit2 a couple years later: Still using MyWorkOuts Android app. I'm finding that the CR2032 battery lasts perhaps a year in my almost daily 1 hour plus workouts. When I take off the strap I unfasten one of the two snap connectors and set the strap aside, refasten that snap connector when putting the strap on for the next workout. I figure that ensures that the electronics of the HR monitor are getting nothing like a signal and that this will make the battery last longer. Just before putting the strap on when starting a workout I get a drop of water on my index finger and wipe it on the back of the strap where it will pick up my heart beat. I saw this recommended and I think it helps ensure that the sensor gets a solid continuous signal. Maybe 2-3 times out of my now nearly 1000 uses have I found that the signal was lost when I checked out my app post-workout. That's pretty high reliability. When that happens it could signal need for a new battery, or it could be inadequate contact at your breast bone. A bit of moisture there helps ensure that the monitor picks up your heart beat.
