Edit: the company has some surprisingly great customer service and are replacing the item for me.
Received the replacement today and it works, I will update with sweating as I was at home today not doing a lot of activity but it was accurate with my light activity and resting HR. I did track manually as well with a stopwatch and my carotid which I can feel strongly. It was usually the same or within 2-3 beats of what I counted manually.
I’ll update when I get active and sweat a lot to see if it’s still giving accurate readings. I do notice it didn’t read well if I had it under my sports bra band, maybe it was pressed into my skin too tightly. I moved it down lower over my ribs and got accurate readings still as long it was in full contact of my skin. I did have to re-moisten the band sensors a few times as the reading updates would go a few minutes and I’d see it wasn’t connected but still making full contact with my skin.
Otherwise I can’t complain, it is significantly better than the first one I ordered and returned. I’m glad the company has such incredible customer service. They reached out when noticing my inaccurate monitor experience and replaced it for me. I can see it works now and the first was a one off. Also the band gives a lot of room for adjustment so I think this would fit a fair amount of people.
But there are downsides to it as well. You need to find a good app that works with this, because this isnt offered as part of the package. I use something called icardio, since it's free on the Google playstore. There's also the mapmyride app and other options but they might not be free. Another thing to watch out for, is that you should dampen the electrode patch or your skin before starting the measurements. Otherwise, you will get much lower readings that don't make sense. There are some youtube videos that you should watch, to get this device set up properly. I found it helpful.
For $40, this is a fantastic device.

The HR monitor worked well and had few problems connecting over the first six months. I purchased this in July 2023 and since around December-January, it's been increasingly problematic to pair with Zwift or Strava. I changed the battery twice in the last month which didn't help.
So at this point, given the product doesn't even last properly for a year, I would not recommend it.
For reference, I use it at least once a day, nearly every day. And have not had connectivity issues with my other bluetooth devices.

This uses cheap replaceable CR2032 3 volt batteries, which I always have on hand.
This thing is much smaller than I anticipated, which is good. It's comfortable, I've been wearing it about 2 hours.
I turned off battery optimizations for the Myworkouts app in android settings, at the suggestion of the app, so that things don't get strange or fail altogether if the phone's screen turns off or battery levels get below any threshold. All my other apps will optimize battery drainage but I don't want that to happen for this. I want it to work perfectly no matter what.
Edit next day: First day using while actually exercising. Road bike to and from gym, 5 miles each way, also kept Myworkouts app running in the gym. Worked great. Until I receive a bracket I ordered from China (!), I'm using a small bungee to hold my phone to handlebars, which works acceptably. Had no trouble reading my HR with this setup during my bike rides. I'm loving it! Had great rides and I was very pleased to know the answer to the question that I'd had in my head for months, "I wonder what my heart rate is right now" while riding to/from my gym.
Edit a few months later: The battery died already. I couldn't find a contact for Powr Labs and so I posted at their Facebook page, trying to avail myself of their 2 year battery replacement offer. That was several weeks ago and as far as I know, they did not respond. Anyway, I'd bought 15 CR2032 batteries a while ago, so I'm good.
Edit2 a couple years later: Still using MyWorkOuts Android app. I'm finding that the CR2032 battery lasts perhaps a year in my almost daily 1 hour plus workouts. When I take off the strap I unfasten one of the two snap connectors and set the strap aside, refasten that snap connector when putting the strap on for the next workout. I figure that ensures that the electronics of the HR monitor are getting nothing like a signal and that this will make the battery last longer. Just before putting the strap on when starting a workout I get a drop of water on my index finger and wipe it on the back of the strap where it will pick up my heart beat. I saw this recommended and I think it helps ensure that the sensor gets a solid continuous signal. Maybe 2-3 times out of my now nearly 1000 uses have I found that the signal was lost when I checked out my app post-workout. That's pretty high reliability. When that happens it could signal need for a new battery, or it could be inadequate contact at your breast bone. A bit of moisture there helps ensure that the monitor picks up your heart beat.
