You don't need NVMe for gaming. This is about as fast as it gets for a gaming environment. At first I had it in a hard drive dock and i imaged an old drive to it, and that worked fine.
I then swapped the old drive with this new drive and as soon as i turned it on i could smell plastic burning/melting. The drive did not appear in my BIOS at all. I removed the drive and could tell the smell was coming from it. I know it definitely is not my power supply or SATA connectors because I was able to plug in the old drive again no problem.
Now I have a dead drive and and I can't safely return it because it has my data on it. So these guys just got my money for nothing. Very frustrated.
Don't bother with this, get something good.

I hesitate to review a hard drive until it has done its job for a good long time. This comes from my IT background where we used to burn in the spinning to make sure they were good. I’ve had this for awhile now so I feel comfortable giving a review. I bought this because at the time the price was unbeatable. I use it to store movies and music as well as my extensive PC game collection. So far it has worked beautifully. It was very easy to install and my PC had no problems picking it up and formatting it. Know that all you will get is the drive so you will have to come up with screws to mount it in your case. It’s fast enough to play videos and works very well to run my games. So far happy with my purchase and love the amount of storage that it has provided.
