Product description
4K UHD at up to 240Hz1 on an OLED display is the best of all gaming worlds - smooth, ultra-fast OLED gaming with immersive, breathtaking visuals. OLED delivers vibrant colors, with stunning, deep black levels that assure on-screen visuals are impeccably detailed while the high refresh diminishes input lag for incredibly smooth game play. LG UltraGear OLED introduces the World’s First VESA Certified Dual Mode gaming monitor. This innovation allows gamers to experience graphically rich, story-driven games in 4K/UHD at up to 240Hz or switch to Full HD at up to 480Hz for fast-paced FPS, MOBA or racing games via hotkey. With Pixel Sound, the screen is essentially the sound. Sound waves are emitted from behind the OLED panel to drive sound from the screen directly at the player - versus speakers from underneath or behind the screen. The result is full, rich audio that's the perfect complement to the impeccable OLED picture quality.

For gaming I couldn't be happier, great colors and brightness, and can't go wrong with 240hz.

The monitor doesn't have any issues. I really liked using the new WOLED. Satisfying to play and watch movies.
Cons=
The monitor is a bit pricey.
I wish it could adjust monitor a bit lower to fit my eyes.
Other than that if you have the budget it's worth. be in mind to have top tier pc since it's 4k.

I use a Mac and a PS5 and the text isn't as bad as people say but it's not great. It's not super blurry in some cases. It's basically like old school type write text. Not horrid but for the price you expect better.
For gaming it's good but it doesn't get as bright as I'd like.
The curve is great for the distance I like to sit away from the monitor (about arms length). It's immersive and good for gaming and watching movies.
For productivity/work it's ok but also not great. Text is where you look forward to the greatness of the display here but it just falls short and it's just a bit underwhelming for what you pay for this.
Last thing - the matte finish is ok, not bad. Definitely prefer a glossy finish over this one but I can see the value in this finish for bright lit rooms. It's actually the best matte finish I've ever seen.
TLDR:
The brightness on this model was supposed to be superior to the previous model but it's still underwhelming.
Text isn't bad but also underwhelming.
Gaming is responsive, colors are decent but they don't pop, they dont' stand out. They're regular OLED level and really didn't wow me the way QD OLED Samsung/Alienware models have.
My overall rating is: Underwhelming. 5/10
Would only recommend when the price drops for this

I love the RGB lighting on the back!! It produces a soft glow around the monitor that looks very nice in a dimly lit room (as seen in my photo). I was planning on getting LED strip lights but feel like that's not necessary anymore.
One common complaint I see is about "text fringing" due to the new subpixel layout on 27" OLEDs in general, not just LG. I was so worried about it that I got an LCD monitor before this one. I ended up returning it because I didn't like the display (washed out colors) and took a chance on the OLED. I'm glad I did because the text fringing is barely an issue for me. Yes, I can see it if I sit up reeaaaalllly close to the monitor or if the text is tiny. From a normal viewing distance, it doesn't impact me at all. Things like reading web pages and documents and chatting in MMO games are all perfectly fine to me.
There's some vertical banding, but it's only present on a gray background. In normal content/usage I don't see it. Most OLEDs have it to some degree, so I don't really mind.
LG now offers a 2-year warranty for screen burn-in (info is on their website). That gives me a peace of mind if I see burn-in anytime soon.
Overall, I recommend trying out this monitor if you're thinking about it! Gaming and watching movies on it has been a delight.

- Gaming: Really immersive and draws you into the game.
The bad:
- Text: The text is really blurry looking, kina of like the text hasn't rendered fully yet but it never does. The text is not clear at all. The matte coating really makes this monitor suffer in this aspect.
- PPI: IMO This 39" should be higher resolution. 1440p for this size monitor is not good enough, I could only imagine how the 45" version of this is with PPI and text.
Would not recommend this monitor due to the poor nature of productivity (which is bad on this monitor due to the matte coating and PPI). The matte coating is good in a brightly lit room, it could handle the light well, and the blacks stay true black, which was impressive for an OLED but that is as far as I can give praise for this monitor. Sadly I will return this monitor and probably go with another brand that doesn't use matte coating. I thought the matte coating wouldn't bother me, but when comparing the picture quality with a qd-oled, the qd-oled wins.
