The SensorPush G1 WiFi Gateway – Access Your SensorPush Data from Anywhere via the Internet

SensorPush App
SensorPush App Gateway Configuration

What’s better than constant monitoring of conditions with SensorPush Smart Sensors? The same capability, extended to anywhere in the world, of course!

The SensorPush G1 WiFi Gateway makes it easy. Like our sensors, setup takes just a few moments. Once the gateway is connected via WiFi or Ethernet, all your nearby SensorPush devices will then be available from anywhere, via the Internet. Whether monitoring one sensor or many, you’ll enjoy real-time updates, full data history and alerts, just as before – but now it’s all available at work, on vacation, or from anywhere you are.

It’s easy for multiple people to log into the same account and receive data and alerts. This makes it also ideal for families or businesses that share responsibility for homes, refrigerators, pets, greenhouses or anywhere that ensuring proper environmental conditions is important.

With the SensorPush G1 WiFi Gateway you can also access your sensor data from your computer via our web dashboard interface, and even use your SensorPush sensors with Alexa!

Technical Specifications

Wireless Range to Sensors: 100 meters line of sight under ideal conditions with no obstructions. Because of the way radio signals work, obstructions or interference can reduce the effective range substantially. Every situation is different, but by way of example, one of our test cases is a wood-framed 2,600 square foot, 2-story home. Sensors can be read from a centrally located gateway virtually anywhere in, or immediately outside, the home.

SensorPush was created by Cousins & Sears Creative Technologists

Cousins & Sears is an award-winning creative technology design and development studio. The Brooklyn, NY-based team has worked on behalf of an incredibly wide variety of organizations from startups to the Fortune 500 across virtually every industry imaginable.

The two partners, Jonathan Cousins and James Nick Sears, are as hands-on as it gets. They bring a range of expertise and knowledge not only from graphic design to software development and electrical engineering, but also in diverse subjects such as history and music.

This broad base of experience means that everything from the sensor firmware to the apps themselves has been hand-crafted line by line. We believe the extra effort shows in the end result.

Value for the peace of mind to know that our hot tub is working properly without having to go outside and check. Has been working flawlessly over the winter. Very quick to respond/alert. Easy setup to home router and iPhone. Highly recommend.

Holy smokes, this is brilliant.
First: flawless, foolproof set up. Less than 10 minutes for the dumbest of us.
Second: it's very small and compact.
Third: not sure what to expect for battery life, it says no where in the manual (that I could find)
Overall: we're buying more. I need very specific temperatures for my MS medication and this is going to save us another $10,000 incident of our fridge dying and spoiling my meds. Alerts happen in REAL TIME, we have mere seconds of opening the fridge or removing it before we both get alerts on our phones. Even when you're on the road since it taps into your wireless network. (There's also Bluetooth only operation but with meds as costly as mine we need alerts everywhere)

We are using 7 of the original HT sensors in combination with this gateway.

For this application the gateway was essential and definitely worth it, for the following reasons:
- temperature data auto-logged to cloud servers, don't have to rely on a phone with their app installed being in the area of the sensor to back up the data
- temperature data available even when off-site via internet (we can check our sensors at any time remotely, and get notifications if it leaves our set range)

With the new extreme accuracy sensors there are many applications that I would feel comfortable recommended this system to.

Very impressed with the quality and design. Set up simple but ran into problems with notifications not working. This is when I discovered their extraordinary customer service. Very prompt and responsive. After numerous emails trying to troubleshoot they discovered a problem on their end. Their persistence was impressive and all is good now. Highly recommend this product and worth the extra cost over the cheaper competition.

Very happy.

This review covers both the SensorPush G1 WiFi/Ethernet Gateway and the HTP and HTP.wx sensors. My needs were in obtaining temperature/humidity devices that could be monitored remotely as I do extensive overseas travel. I read reviews for a number of devices and the SensorPush system provided connectivity using BlueTooth, WiFi and Ethernet connectivity with multiple parameter monitoring. Many reviewers noted the company provided quick support via e-mail. I had a pre-installation question I sent on a Sunday evening and had a reply on Monday early afternoon answering my inquiry that was within the promised amount of time for responding to e-mail.

The G1 Gateway and the most accurate HTP.wx are manufactured in the USA while the least expensive sensor HT1 is made in China. The HTP.wx sensor which is water resistant and has the ability to measure barometric pressure is mounted in the attic which has been experiencing high humidity levels. Using the information provided by the sensor, I am able to turn on/off an attic fan using SmartHome automation to lower the humidity level. The basic sensor for temperature and humidity is located in the basement that is not subjected to the levels of humidity as I experience in the attic. However I also have the ability to run a dehumidifier and separate fan for air circulation.

I first connected the sensors to the iPhone app using BlueTooth and then installed the Gateway. With one sensor in the basement and one in the attic which is essentially the third level of the house, I needed to find an ideal location that provided significant signal strength. I ended up installing the Gateway on the first floor where I obtained equal signal strength. The connectivity remained robust for nearly a month when I noticed I was not receiving updates for almost two hours. I checked the Gateway and rebooted it and still no connection while my WiFi was working as well as all my other SmartHome automation devices and six WiFi thermostats. I suspect there was an issue with the server on the SensorPush company end being momentarily down. When I checked sometime later, the app was again being updated. No data was missing during the short outage.

Since I was leaving for an international trip, I decided to run an Ethernet cable to a a switch in the house. My router and several Netgear switches are all plugged into UPS battery back-ups and the house is equipped with a standby generator to ensure continuously connectivity. When the plane touched down in Europe and I turned on my phone, I immediately began receiving push notifications from the SensorPush app giving me up-to-date status. I have been monitoring both sensors while here in Europe writing this review.

I was pleasantly surprised at the functionality and appearance of the SensorPush app. It provides a great deal of flexibility in setting parameter limits for reporting and the ability to view data easily as a combination of alphanumeric characters and graphic showing trends of rising, stable or falling. A circle plotted on a horizontal line appears as green if within a clear zone indicating what the user defines as a normal range and a red circle within a shaded area if the value is above or below the user-defined normal range. The view can be changed to provide a graphic representation by hour, day, month and year. The graph lines of each parameter are presented in green indicating the measurements are within the user-defined limits and will be displayed in red when a parameter is above or below a defined limit.

I am totally satisfied with the price, performance and technical support in the first full month of using this product. It is too early to provide information on battery life. However, the app provides information on battery level of each sensor so monitoring it is easy. I am looking to purchase a couple of HT.w sensors that are also water resistant and made in USA but does not have the capability of monitoring barometric pressure which is not needed since I already have one with that capability. If you have needs for remote monitoring whether off-premises or thousands of miles from home, I highly recommend purchasing the Gateway G1 to provide internet connectivity.

Molto soddisfatto.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clever, small, easy to install

Such a clever little device. My partner and I run an Ice cream business, Pop Ice UK and we need to be able to constantly register the temperature of the freezer for food safety. We have tried so many different devices, that seemed to fail on us quickly.

This device and its sensors however are fantastic, accurate and convenient, small and compact they tick every box.

If we have had any questions or slight problems the company SensorPush has been very quick to respond and resolve.

I honestly can’t recommend enough and I have got sensors for our personal fridge/freezers now just for the knowledge they are working correctly and at the right temperature.

As a side note, when we are trading, we take a sensor with us and put it in the van freezer and it is so easy to read it via Bluetooth without the gateway. The gateway is just great for us as we have peace of mind whilst we are out and about that the main freezers are working properly and if we were to have a powercut or freezer malfunction we would know quickly with the alerts and have time to do something about it.

Edited 10/08/2023 - I love sensorpush not just for their clever little devices, but their unfaltering customer service, there is no other company that makes you feel as valued as they do. This is how companies should be run.
