Picked this book up as a clinician interested in learning more about "perfectionism." I couldn't have been more pleased! Dr. Chasson provides a nuanced view of perfectionism and how it impact's people ability to work. It's lighthearted and I caught myself chuckling many times. The book is more geared toward managers, employees and the workplace in general rather than clinicians (but useful for both audiences, in my opinion). So after I finished it, I handed the copy to my fiance, who works in management in HR, and she came away with great revelations on some of the "perfectionism" in her workplace and how to go about improving workflow, efficiency as well as employee confidence and wellbeing.

If you are in any form of a leadership role, Flawed should be on your must read list. Perfectionism as a distorted value and unstainable saps efficiency from ourselves and our staff. To become a true leader who is invested in the growth of their team recognizing this silent productivity-harmer is essential. Dr. Chasson combines his wry and dry wit with practical and meaningful insights. Each chapter has a nice clean summary to it. As a professional who has worked with hundreds, if not thousands, of people and leaders struggling with the monster of perfectionism, I applaud this contribution.

What a game changer! I wish I had this book ten years ago. It would have helped me be more aware of the impact that acute perfectionist behaviors can have on an organization so I could have taken more effective actions.

Maybe, like I have, you’ve recruited employees for their creativity, thoroughness, attention to detail, and the rigorous methods they use to deliver outstanding work, putting them well ahead of their peers and the competition. These can be some of your best employees. But what happens when you aren’t aware of the negative traits that can come with acute perfectionism, that going unrecognized and uncorrected, negatively impact the employees’ career, organizational productivity, and that can stifle a healthy work environment?

Greg Chasson’s new book, Flawed: Why Perfectionism Is A Challenge To Management, provides useful insights into recognizing perfectionism and a perfectionist culture. It also delivers methods to diagnose, manage, and take corrective actions in an understandable, practical, and down-to-earth manner. It’s a must-read for leaders who want to provide an environment for these unique individuals to flourish and to limit any negative effects on the organization before it’s too late. Highly recommended.

This book is a must-read for the manager or business leader who wants to be more effective in their role. Author Greg Chasson shares his knowledge and experience pertaining to perfectionists lurking within the workplace. After reading the book, I clearly understood that there is no great pride in being a perfectionist. Quite the contrary, a true perfectionist can have a very negative impact on the work team and stand in the way of overall goal achievement. Perfectionism is not the same as striving to be your best.
Chasson does a great job of guiding the reader through the nuances of perfectionism. He accomplishes this using plain language and helpful case illustrations to make his points. His worksheets and graphs are quite helpful. Most effective is how he summarizes the end of each chapter by including a recap of conclusions and take aways.
The only thing Dr. Chasson and I disagree on is the importance of properly folding towels.... On that subject, I wholeheartedly agree with his wife.
Understanding perfectionism certainly increases my leadership and management skills.
