I bought this speaker to use with my first 5.1 surround home theatre system. I am driving it with a Denon 8K AVR-S570BT. I view movies, music videos, and Youtube content mainly. Some purely music listening. The other surround speakers are also JBL (Stage A130), with a 10" Yamaha powered subwoofer.

My initial impression on unboxing was: whoa, this is _well_ built. It is hefty, solid, and beautifully finished. The surface finish does not give an impression of cheapness despite not being real wood veneer (for example). This is a budget-leaning speaker that doesn't say budget; quite the opposite. I really like the just as solid and chunky rear binding post terminals.

I find this speaker set in center position is an excellent match for the system. Dialogue is clear and distinct, vocals are too and not too forward or subdued. I tilted it 10 degrees upward for the listening couch using a pair of foam wedges.

(Shoutout to @cheapaudioman and other Youtubers for the recommendations to this line of speakers. Great advice all.)

Well built. Good size. Great sound. Would have given a 5 but the bass , which is nice, clouds up the voice clarity a bit for the centre speaker. Keep in mind that it isn't just plug in for some AVR s.

Right out of the box, I knew this center speaker was quality.
It has nice a weight to it.
The sound is huge step up from my tiny center I was previously using.
Voices are much clearer & sound from the 6 3"woofers fill the room.

I quickly snagged this excellent center speaker when it went on sale. It normally retails $299 and it is well worth that price based on sound quality alone. I found out about these JBL stage series speakers via word of mouth and YouTube audio reviews. This center speaker is definitely more refined than other center speakers in this price range offered by klipsch, sony, and polk, yet dynamic, never boring, provides brilliant vocal clarity, deep punchy base, and imaging that rivals far more expensive speakers. I paired this with the JBL stage a130 bookshelf speakers for my front soundstage and the sound is jaw dropping amazing with movies and music. Not only do these speakers disappear in my room creating a wall of sound that immerses you with a giant wide soundstage, these speakers just makes me smile because of how good it sounds. Either in use as part of my Dolby Atmos 7.4.4 home theater setup or critical listening use for high res audio streaming via Tidal or Apple Music, this center speaker can handle anything you throw at it and not only plays it ridiculously well, it does it with ease. Frankly, it has no business sounding this good. You have to hear it to believe how good it is.
