3.0 out of 5 starsNot as good as the series 5000 multigroom and beard trimmer but has some nice features

Philips' models are confusing. Some of them have different names in different countries. Either way, I did like this one but I had issues with it so I had to return it. It did not have defects. Philips products are usually very reliable and last many years.
I tried 3 copies of this one and all were the same:
1. Blade is too sharp. Good for hair cutting, but hurts when shaving beard without a guard. It cut, scratched, and made me bleed in my neck. I've been shaving my beard with electric shavers for over 18 years. My favourite was the series 5000 multigroom, and now the series 5000 beard trimmer. Those don't hurt.
There's no reason why the hair clipper 7000 should hurt, especially since Philips says that we can remove the guards and use it.
2. The shape is too big and awkward to hold.
3. It's slippery.. It doesn't have rubber either (apart from on the dial) and since the shape is too large and awkward, it's not easy to hold and felt like I was going to drop it.
4. The guards are nice but they don't feel very stable and move a lot.
5. The inside of the blade itself has a different design than the Philips trimmers that I have. It was more difficult to move when I wanted to clean it, and there was a lot of friction, and hair would get stuck in there. I would also see black residue from the metal, that was concerning but I think it stopped after a few times of using it.
6. I don't understand the point of the turbo function that much. I know what it does but my series 5000 beard trimmer is stronger yet doesn't have a turbo button. Both last 90 minutes according to specs.
If Philips could fix all the above, and make it a bit smaller (easier to hold) yet with the same blade width, it would be an amazing product.
Now the good:
1. It is great for hair cutting though. It passes effortlessly. It does cut close but since it scratches, it wasn't easy to trim my beard with it, especially the moustache area.
2. I love the idea of being able to trim my hair from 0.5 to 28mm. I so would have loved to have that 28mm length in my current trimmer, but it is what it is.
3. Good battery life like all Philips products (though series 5000 multigroom lasts for 3-4 hours).
4. I really like the waterproofing. Easy to wash and clean. Series 5000 beard trimmer is the same.
