1.0 out of 5 starsMy 1st day of use and mine appears to be defective!

On day 1 and ONLY on day 1, this phone acted up after one day of kind of wading around through it. Set it up to ONLY use on wifi while I tried to figureout it's options, contents, functions etc. Had it at work all day, used on company wifi and it worked okay there. Set it up with ONLY a password for security and I put it to sleep about 6 times at work and each time, no problem after pressing the power button to wake it up. Of course the next requirement was to enter my password after swiping up for the screen lock. After still tweaking it on first day and now into the evening, put it to sleep and this time when I slid up the screen lock icon, the blank for the password, I was met with the long line with a blinking cursor in the middle. No matter what I pressed, the keyboard for me to insert my password, did not come up. Instead, it kept returning to the lock screen after I would try tapping in a few spots and right on the blinking cursor as well. Battery life for the whole day and some simple surfing and music videos played and it dropped to 77%. This was not an issue but I had been trying to stop some apps that would drain it further (I've used cell phones for many years so I know how to tweak 'em). Now then, THANKFULLY I didn't have more time and information installed in this device since I had to (of course) factory reset it by doing a hard reset (volume button and power button for 3 seconds). This of course returned me to a brand new installation and back to square one. I was not holding onto the phone for long amounts of time but instead had it placed on my table while I looked around its contents and tweaked things. I noticed that the back of the phone was quite warm and seriously, many of my older phones hardly ever heated up even if I held onto them tight for long periods of time. I will be returning this phone within its warranty period but have decided to wait to see if the seller reaches out to me now that I have also sent them a message. This does not bode well for the Bison X20 if it's going to be "twitchy" on its very first day. Now is this a unique situation for my phone in particular or is it going to be repeated for others? Without having the option of the keyboard popping up so a user can enter their password, how exactly can a person unlock the phone if a password option has been chosen? And yes, after I hard reset it and wiped it to factory settings, it worked okay to set it up, turn it right off and try again for the password unlock Unfortunately I am not about to input all my contacts, login to the sites and email providers I use daily, insert my sim card and then risk losing it all again if the thing acts up like it did on its 1st day.
Update on May 4, 2024: I have already returned the device via Amazon's free return and free shipping. I AM impressed by the conduct of Umidigi though. They reached out to me today to apologize for the poorly functioning X20 Bison and a refund is being given as I knew it would be anyway. I wish to add that I was quite impressed with the weight and feel of the device and although I only had 1 day's usage out of it, the graphics were very good, it appeared to be a decent enough deal for the price and I'm pretty certain enough consumers would be impressed with the build quality. At this time though I don't wish to purcahse another of that particular model until sometime in the future there are more reviews to check out. Perhaps my situation was unique but I'll wait it out for a while to see if that is the case.
