I really like this watch. It arrived very quickly and was very easy to set up. The box came with the watch, a standard watch strap, a metal magnetic watch strap, an instruction booklet, and a magnetic USB charging cable. I installed the VeryFit App on my android phone and then the app took care of the rest. The standard strap feels a bit cheap so I took it off and replaced it with the metal strap. The metal strap with a magnet clasp is very nice. The strap installed very easily and keeps the watch in place. The smart watch had more features than I thought it would and all of them are easy to use.
The battery life is good. I have gotten about 3-4 days on a single charge, and that is with the extra bio sensors turned on continuously. The manual says this drains battery life faster, but it is worth it to have the extra functionality. The sensors include heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, sleep, and VO2max (based on blood oxygen levels during exercise). Heart rate and VO2 seems to work well. The sleep measure will track your sleep habits and encourage you to get better sleep if needed.
The watch has several different exercise settings, not all of which I have used yet. I have used the indoor and outdoor running, indoor and outdoor cycling, lane swimming, and indoor and outdoor walking modes. The watch does not have a GPS sensor so I think that it makes assumptions based on the acceleration sensors. These all work pretty good. I was not sure if the waterproof level was sufficient for swimming, but I followed the instruction book guidance and decided to keep it on while swimming ... and it worked quite well. I was actually quite impressed that the watch differentiated between different swimming strokes on lengths, I was not expecting that.
The phone pairing was quite straightforward, and it handles notifications well. If you want, you can also dial and make phone calls (through your phone) right on the watch, so you dial on the watch, hear the caller through the watch, and speak into the watch ... I did not use this feature outside of testing it, but I can see doing this if you don't want to get your phone from somewhere else in the house, for example. There is also a find phone feature, and you can have the watch answer calls while you are finding your phone (in a backpack/pocket/purse, for example. The watch can also trigger phone camera pictures, which could come in handy for selfies. The charging cable fits into place magnetically and does so in a secure manner. The bio sensors employ a green and red laser light.
My main comparison point is a Garmin vivoactive watch (several years old now), and this watch has several features that my garmin watch does not have.
What is the watch missing? For the price nothing really, but, if I had to add one or two features here is what I could see myself missing:
1. GPS. The watch does not have a GPS sensor, so on outdoor runs/hikes/walks/bike rides you do not get current speed or direction. If one has a paired phone then software should be able to get this data from the phone, but I could not see how to set this up in settings (maybe this is a SW update feature that could be added?) I do not feel deceived for this feature not being there, it didn't say it had GPS, I just wish that it did have this.
2. The settings for when to illuminate the watch face take a little getting used to. Sometimes you tilt your hand to see the time and it shows up, sometimes not and then you can press the button to light the face up. Alo, sometimes the face lights up without you trying to look at it. If there were settings to adjust the sensitivity of this, that would be a useful feature.
3. Music control. If the music app on the phone is open, then the music control on the watch works. If this is not the case then the music app sometimes does not work. This may be an issue with the phone rather than the watch.
Overall comments: This is an absolutely wonderful smart watch, especially so for the price. It is comfortable, has decent battery life and the charger cable fits nicely. The blood pressure and blood oxygen sensors are nice to have and work well. The bluetooth pairing works well and opens up quite a lot of functionality with a smart phone. There are lots of choices for watch faces through the app, andalso quite a bit of settings and data through the app as well.
This watch is highly recommended.
