5.0 out of 5 starsVery easy for my 5 year old to use

What I like about this camera:
1. Very child friendly. Our five year old was able to take photos using this and then use the digital stickers to overlay on the photos herself (without me showing her!)
2. Printing function - it is basically receipt paper that prints photos in black and white. Very easy to install. The printing is instant and the print function can be turned off to let your child just take photos without wasting the paper. The camera, whether it prints the photo or not, will store the photo in its memory. The print paper is actually high quality.
3. Menu interface is easy for our child to use. I did not have to teach her the menu, she was able to figure out how to use the menu herself and access the features.
4. The pink whale is cute. Adorable actually and she gravitated to it immediately.
5. Memory is already inside the camera to store the videos and photos.
6. Camera is 60% charged and ready to use out of the box. No wait time in getting started. Instructions were very straight forward when installing the paper and turning on the device.
7. Camera comes with physical stickers and pre-installed digital picture stickers
8. There is a strong lanyard you can attach to the camera. The child can wear the camera around their neck so in case of a drop, it won't actually hit the ground.
9. Our son was gifted a camera that printed colour thermal photos instantly (like a Polaroid). This camera is a way better option financially because the photo options are there and the printing is optional!!!!
Dislikes:
1. The resolution is fine for a child's toy, but definitely do not expect 4K quality. It is exactly this, a starting camera for a child without fear of losing sleep if they break it because it isn't your high end camera.
2. Paper - 3 rolls are included in the camera box and currently, the replacement sold by the brand is $8 per role or $40 for a roll of 5 refills. It is a bit expensive to refill the camera once the initial 3 rolls are done. I will have look around to see if there are similar and compatible rolls to be used once the initial 3 are done. From what I have researched, it looks like not all thermal paper is made equal and sometimes a generic or bad quality paper will not print photos properly. So with that in mind, I may just buy their paper brand to ensure our kids get a good quality photo.
3. Print quality - the paper printing quality is grainy. It will be clear enough to see the images/people, but expect lighter and darker line patches because it is printing off a roll. The printing in black and white isn't consistent due to the patchiness. For a child's toy, it is good enough and it is nice to have an instant photo that prints in 3 seconds to share with friends.
Overall, I think it is a great toy. Affordable to let them feel independent in in taking their own photos, but also being able to share the photos with friends and family by giving a hardcopy to someone. It is a very neat for a 5 year old and she does love it. Her favourite feature is putting stickers on the images using the camera's pre-installed sticker functions in the menu. My 8 year old and 5 year spent time playing with the pre-installed games as well. Their favourite game on the camera was the snake one that keeps growing longer as you play [that is what was described to me from a child's perspective!].
