3.0 out of 5 starsBad impression on Fitbit Versa 4 - Planning to returning after 23 days of use
Reviewed in Canada on April 24, 2024
I've used the Fitbit Versa 4 for about 23 days now and while the design is quite appealing and the sleep tracking function is good, I've decided to return it due to several issues that outweigh its benefits. Firstly, the screen resolution didn't impress me much, which might not be a big deal since it's not marketed as a high-end product.
However, the functionality issues are a dealbreaker for me. The step counter significantly overestimates steps when not connected to phone GPS, making it unreliable for tracking activity. Additionally, the heart rate sensor occasionally shows erratic spikes, jumping from an average of 70 to 100 bpm and then back down, which doesn't seem normal.
I also encountered persistent bugs with the Fitbit app on my iPhone 14. For example, it inaccurately recorded distances (showing 7,825 km instead of 7.8 km) and failed to sync updates from the app to the watch correctly. Despite setting daily walking goals in the app, these were not updated on the watch display.
I tried multiple troubleshooting steps including factory resetting the watch, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and updating the watch's firmware, but none resolved these issues. Considering Fitbit is now a Google-owned company, my expectations were higher, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to them. I hope this review helps others make a more informed decision.
