3.0 out of 5 starsOne button + multiple modes = FAIL

I needed a new compact flashlight so when these came up as a "flash deal" with two flashlights for less than 20 bucks I figured it was a chance worth taking.
I definitely wouldn't say I regret buying them. I mean they work, they're bright enough. But I've come to despise the one button, multiple mode design.
No matter how careful you are about long/short/full/half pressing the button, at some point (for me more often than not) you're going to end up with a flashing strobe light when you turn it on and will have to click, click, click that button just to get it to work like a normal flashlight.
Even if you have use for the strobe function I think you'll find that the control scheme of different length clicks just doesn't work. You'll never know which mode it'll be in when you turn it on. Additionally, if you use regular [Energizer Max] alkaline batteries, it'll burn through them quickly, 3 at a time.
My advice is to save yourself the annoyance and either get a single "mode" flashlight, or one with separate/distinct controls that allow you to clearly select/see the mode it's in. Since I don't need any modes other than "flashlight", I'm going to replace these with a single mode one that does just that.
