1.0 out of 5 starsNothing but problems since Blink moved to subscription plans and Sync2 requirement

When I purchased the Blink security system in 2020 with the original sync module everything worked perfectly - 5 stars. I had originally purchased a two camera system and worked my way up to 5 cameras. I was very impressed with how the system worked with plenty of storage in the cloud for my needs, and no subscription required. It worked exactly as it was advertised. In 2022 Blink moved to a subscription based model. Some of my cameras were "grandfathered in" under the "no subscription required" and some were not. I ordered a sync module 2 and a usb storage to get around the subscription requirement for the newer, HD cameras. I ended up purchasing a sync module 2 and a usb storage device in order to avoid having to start paying a subscription to maintain my original level of functionality. After much frustration and effort, I finally got the sync module 2 and all cameras to operate, and store data, as per Blink's instructions. It wasn't long before my HD usb cameras stopped storing data on the usb. I receive notices via the app that they detect motion, but they are no longer storing the data on the usb. The system is now very unreliable and seems to be intentionally geared towards forcing owners into the subscription plans with cloud based storage and notifications. I was initially very pleased with this system, but I have become very disappointed. What company changes how a system functions and forces users into a subscription plan after the fact???!!! Prior to the subscription based model, my system worked perfectly. Had I know Blink was moving to this model, I would have NEVER purchased this system. The new model of service is nothing but a money grab.
