5.0 out of 5 starsThis is one dual stand that you can trust and probably the best you can get for your money

I had a 32 inch monitor and ordered a second one because I now work full time from home and probably pretty much for the next few years. However, my desk is not that deep, so both 32 inch monitors stands' bases were taking a lot of desk space and working was a little uncomfortable. So I started looking at the dual monitor stands and my interest was for the ones with mobile arms.
Unfortunately, my monitors are pretty close to 18 pounds each and all the stands I saw not only claimed the limit was 17.6 pounds or so, but the reviews challenged this and a lot of buyers even with 27 inch monitors seemed to complain that the stands were hard to adjust, do not keep their position and that even though their monitors were lighter than the maximum weight, they cannot hold them, even setting the arms to maximum pressure.
Then I saw this Huano stand at a very competitive price, claiming it can hold up to 20 pounds per arm. I admit I was skeptical but figured I had 30 days to return the product, if it did not meet the specs.
Well I have been very impressed with the engineering and the quality of the hardware even just taking it out of the box. You intuitively feel that this is a very strong and good quality product and this feeling was reinforced during the installation. Cable management is very smart and nice (the wife is now very happy ;-) ) you can take a look at the pictures to see for yourself. Adjusting the pressure was easy and lining up both monitors was a simple task and nothing has moved out of alignment, not even for a millimeter, for weeks now.
Installation seemed hard at first, because you have to fight the arm to attach the monitor. Note that I could (or should) probably have lowered the spring's pressure but being a photographer, I have light stands' sandbag weights so I put some on the arms and that was just enough to counterbalance the gas springs, making the installation pretty much a walk in the park.
Conclusion, a very good product. The only thing that worries me is the life expectancy of the gas springs. Most of the hatchback cars I owned did eventually develop issues with this kind of springs, leaking over time and loosing pressure and they are not cheap to replace. Time will tell, but at the moment, I am extremely satisfied and glad I did not have to return the product. And... bonus, the stand is very sleek, both arms look like sci-fi movies' robotic arms. ;-) Hope this helps some buyers!
