1.0 out of 5 starsClicking sound every 5 seconds - Don't store all your data in one HD!

The price is attractive for a massive capacity hard drive, hence it'd popularity.
I purchased the 14 TB model about 3 years ago. I ordered one and had to return first one because of a broken housing. The replacement is the one I'm still using.
Fast forwarf to THIS order, I got the 18tb model that makes a clicking sound every 5 seconds, there were no processes running, and even so, they should not making clicking sounds. Any unnecessary movement or incorrect movement will without a doubt cause premature wear and inevitably damage the drive.
I had already suffered HD crashes of different kinds, and I was looking to purchase another HD to keep as an identical backup so I never have to endure that kind of traumatic experience again.
I returned this one and bought a WD Gold 18 TB? Which is supposed to be one of the best on the market today.
Although it's more expensive, do yourselves a favor and get 2 hard drives, one for use, one for backup, and backup regularly.
It is NOT WORTH putting all your precious data on ONE hard drive. Because if you drop it or it fails, your stuff is gone until you go through some difficult channels to have any chance to get your stuff back.
All that said, I would NOT gamble with these anymore. These are cheap, mass-produced drives, that look sleek and are easy to use, but have a higher failure rate, and from reading many negative reviews, are unpredictable. You may get a good one, you may get a lemon.
Get something else, get 2.
