Installing the mount is great if you have a desk with nothing underneath. If your desk has stability bars or a back, like many do, you're going to end up in a case where you either don't have enough space to clamp the mount, or where the mount is not fully on the desk. Neither case is ideal, but the second one is at least workable. To achieve that, however, I had to clamp the mount to the side of my desk, which then causes a whole other slew of problems...
The arms have a range of motion which works well if the mount is installed at the back of the desk, not the side. As a result, my primary monitor arm is set to reach as far out into the middle of the desk as possible in order to roughly centre it. The second monitor is now unable to come close to the first one and is awkwardly off to the side and closer to me than I'd like. This is due to the range of motion of the arms on the base, which cannot rotate all the way backwards, for example. In this configuration, the second monitor is also in a position which the manual advises against (centre of gravity past the edge of the desk). Even trying to use the secondary monitor in a vertical position does not let them line-up nicely. [As I'm typing this, I notice that if I switch the arms the monitors are on, I may be able to accomplish what I want, but I'm not certain. This is a pain to do so will need to try it some other day]
Finally, I wanted to try to take advantage of the cable channels in the arms to keep my desk a bit more organized. Unfortunately, they can barely accommodate two cables per arm, and in my case I have multiple inputs set up on each monitor. After fiddling with them for a while (the angles are not ideal to access the screws for the channels), I ultimately could not make any use of them.
Overall, I'm quite disappointed in this mount. I had high hopes, but due to the lack of clamp depth information in the listing, the limited range of motion on the base, and the poor cable management options, I am left wishing I had considered other options. I'm sure this mount would work well for some simpler setups and very basic desks, however for anything even slightly more "advanced", look elsewhere. Hopefully I can mess around with this mount (and the other single-armed one I ordered) over the next few days and come to a resolution, otherwise I may be forced to return them.
