Had a full review written and I backed out, thus deleting the review. I will sum it up succintly. I had assistance throughout the book as well, and accept translation as an affecting factor.
Boring, tedious, long. Dialogue is convoulted, thoughts and speech are spliced together so one minute someone is talking the next they are thinking.
Translation isn't the greatest defense, considering the slog. Silent Hill 2, and inspired property by this book, deals with the subject much more clearly and its translated by Japanese developers.
Historical context doesn't help much either, considering literature from Ancient Greece and Rome holds up well.
The straw that broke the camels back for me was Hehehe - Pyotr Petrovich, that I threw my hands up and called it quits.
Idc enough to type the review any longer.
Tldr, incredibly boring. Philosophy is weak at best. Read Camus. At least you'll save 10 hours.
