1.0 out of 5 starsUseless Coverage for Headphones - Waste of money
Reviewed in Canada on March 24, 2021
I paid $5 (Canadian) for this plan to cover my purchase of ~$50 bluetooth headphones for 2 years. After just over a year and a half of owning these headphones, one side of the headphones stopped working. I went to asurion's website to start a claim, only to find that it says my order number does not exist? I followed all the instructions from the original email from asurion, and it suggested I call their toll free number. I looked at the review for this warranty on amazon before dialling the number, and I regret not reading them before purchasing this product. I can see that many people have had a headache waiting on hold for hours and had no luck claiming the warranty. I pulled up the terms and conditions of the asurion warranty protection only to find that I was only insured to, at most, $15 to assist in mailing the headphones to the manufacturer. Nothing to cover the cost of actual repairs. "Our coverage includes a one (1) time reimbursement via a gift card or cheque, at our discretion, of up to 15.00$ for the cost of shipping your product to the manufacturer for repair or replacement during the term of the manufacturer’s warranty." The manufacturer's warranty is for 18 months... so the warranty actually doesn't cover anything after that, as I would have to pay for repairs anyway. Essentially, the "two years" is a lie. I know this was only $5, but it's truly a waste of time. Make sure the manufacturer's warranty on your product is good and skip this useless add-on. It will save you a headache down the line.
