Purchased this extended warranty for an MP3 player. I had to return the MP3 because it was faulty. I called Asurion to request an e-gift card and already knew what I had read when the policy was purchased and as follows and SHOULD BE what I would get back: "Easy Claims Process: File a claim 7/365 via phone. Most claims approved within minutes. We will send you an Amazon e-gift card for the purchase price of your covered product. This is NOT true, Asurion advised "we only send a cheque in the mail, we don't give gift cards" BUT they did state there is a retailer (which I cannot name here) that qualifies for said gift cards. ONLY them. I will never purchase another warranty from Asurion and I have advised Amazon of this denial on Asurion's part. I have spoken to them multiple times (via phone calls) and have stressed the fact that it's what we Amazon customers/purchasers are shown when the page for the policy comes up after one is asked if they'd like extended coverage and sent to a new page. Had I known they would ONLY issue cheques that are sent in the mail, I would NOT have purchased an extended warranty with Asurion. This sort of issue should not occur and what I advised them was the following "People DO read the pertinent information which is front and center when purchasing the warranty. If it's posted that a refund is provided by an e-gift card, then that should be it. There is no asterisk(*) one is shown which would mean that there is some fine print at the bottom of the page on Amazon so my proof is that anyone reading this should (before checkout and after choosing Asurion's extended warranty), read what I did and question why it is left to remain if it isn't true?
