5.0 out of 5 starsDirect Comparison with Premier Protein

I got the double chocolate flavour. I was using another brand, Premiere Protein, for well over a year, but it honestly tasted like dollar store cocao powder. There was only so long I could tolerate it. 6 Star brand has a much nicer tastes than Premiere Protein. It's thicker and a little bit more chocolatey than the other brands I've had, except Vega but their chocolate shake is unique and a whole other story). 6 Star is also less sweet than Premiere Protein, but that's a bonus for me because I found Premier Protein much too sweet to have more than half a scoop at a time (which was only a modest 7.5g of protein). I add half a scoop to my coffee in the morning, with colligen and a bunch of other things and milk to make it into a nutritional shake. 6 Star isn't overpowering at all. It gives my coffee a great mocha taste. I can even add more to the coffee because it is not as sweet and dollarstore cocoa tasting as Premier Protein. So I went from having less than 10g of protein powder in my coffee each morning to having 15 to 20g without it being unsatisfying. It also melts much nicer in warm liquid. I do mix all drys, then add warm water to make it syrup, which I then add coffee. Might sound gross but you can add all kinds of healthy things to make an ordinary morning coffee into a protein shake. 6 Star can clump but usually melts after a very short while, compared to premier protein which just clumped and became little gel balls in my coffee. Premiere Protein required a lot more work in that morning concoction, usually with a fork or whisk. 6 Star is just a mildly vigiourous stir with some warm liquid, and done--no fork, no whisk; sometimes I only use a straw. Overall, I'm pleased. I got a larger container that was actually filled, compared to the half full container from Premiere Protein, which made no sense. And it also costs less by the gram, which is always great. The amount of powder ratio to protein is the same as Premiere Protein, but they use different sized scoops, 15g of protein per scoop for Premier and 30g for 6 Star. I compared by using the smaller Premiere Protein scoop to fill the larger scoop and it was exactly 2x, so the amount of power I am ingesting is the same for both brands. 6 Star is also less sticky than Premiere Protein, of which I am a huge fan--super annoying in the morning having protein dust wafting out of my mug and making everything super sticky. 6 star just wipes up easy, it's not stuck on the moment it makes contact with something else. All around, a better product. This also comes with bonus vitamin D and zinc, which I'm always short. Premiere Protein is more convenient to buy at the grocery store for sure but amazon actually delivered it the same day, which surprised me a lot--it was waiting at home for me before I even got there.
