I've used indigo and henna for years, and this is definitely a high quality indigo powder. My hair is pretty much grey to white, so I used the indigo at 3 parts indigo to 1 part henna. Added warm water only, and let the mixture sit in a covered glass bowl at about 100 degrees for an hour before application.
Don't follow the bogus instructions on most of these natural dye products. Wash your hair and blow until mostly dry. These are weak water based dyes, and won't add color to wet or oily hair. Most of the complaints about henna and indigo products are due to user error. Trust me...

I've been coloring my hair with henna for decades. I noticed sometime *this* decade that the color henna provided was no longer as flattering as it was when I was younger and had more color in my skin. I shortened the the time it processed on my hair, but it still was too bright. I mixed up the henna as usual, let it sit overnight, then added indigo powder (4 / 1 Henna/ indigo) and mixed it in. After washing my hair and letting it dry, colored my hair. This was great; a softer, golden blond.
