First, I didn't like the setup. It wouldn't connect to my wifi. I turned off the 5 GHz channel of my router and it still didn't work. Turns out that you MUST allow for location services on your phone for the meross app. That really pissed me off to the point I am seriously considering returning the device.One thing I do like is that the lowest dim point can be specified my the user, and is the only reason why I just might keep this unless I can find another that allows the same functionality.Aesthetically, it's not as sleek as other Wi-Fi switches, as can be noted by the one next to it. I did note that the lights on the switch are also photo luminescent, which means that they glow for time after the light is switched off. This is good for a bedroom where people like to sleep and complete darkness.All in all, if they fix that problem on the app I'd be happy with this unit.

Pretty straightforward to install if you know what you're doing. Took me a few minutes. On first connection, there will be a firmware update. The switch won't be very responsive until that is done so give it 30 mins or so. Now I can tell Google Assistant to turn on/off lights, dim to or by a percentage, etc. Works well and fast too. I don't use Alexa so I can't comment on that.
However, the Meross app has a few omissions that is annoying. First, you can't set a routine with brightness control. The routine will turn the light on or off, but no way to set brightness. As a workaround, you can set a scene instead, but for some reasons, you can't set a sunset routine with a scene. An annoying limitation. I also wish I could group devices in some way. As you add more Meross devices, the app's home screen can get quite long.
Make sure to properly identify and connect the load in and out wires otherwize the switch won't come on. If the switch is not working, you might have those wires switched.
I had Wemo switches before that kept going offline and Google lost them a few times. No more with those Meross switches. Very happy with those.

After a couple of months of my who gone being connected to these switches I just had to write a review.

They stop working all of a sudden, resetting them doesn’t work I have to turn the power off on my breaker to panel to get them responsive again.

Lights flicker all the time.

And my favourite, lights turn ON randomly CONSTANTLY, middle of the night and my bedroom light turns on or I wake up to all my lights on, I know it’s this product as my other smart switches never do this.

In my opinion, pay the extra money to get better quality switches, it’s a shame as these are really responsive, but definitely not worth the hassle.

This smart switch works as described. I had some issues adding it with the Meross app, the app kept timing out in the final step. After several attempts, I got it to install and it worked properly with Alexa, from within the Meross app or from the switch itself. I like that the dimness setting can be adjusted while the switch is off (though it does not show that the adjustment is being made until the switch is turned on). I also liked that the low brightness setting can be calibrated in the Meross app, since my lights were off on the low setting before I calibrated it. I ended up returning these switches for 2 reasons, first it has a cheap feel and annoying click which is noticeable and makes the switch feel cheaper than others we have in our home. Secondly the Meross app does not have a widget that can be operated when the app is closed, which is quite inconvenient, so to adjust the light from my phone I have to unlock it and open the app or Alexa, for other devices such as Kasa or those which run with Smart Life, I can adjust the lights straight from the Lock Screen widget. Overall a decent product but quality/performance was inadequate/not as expected. I purchased a Kasa smart dimmer instead, I already have one of these in my home and they are better quality, have a better app and a Lock Screen widget, albeit slightly more expensive.

Install is straight forward, but you will likely have to clean up the gang box routing a bit to ensure that the switch fits. Works well in the meross app and functions well within Google Home. I do with that I could customize the light steps however, not only the dimmest setting. e.g. I want my highest setting at the switch to be 90%, not 100, etc....

 It’s the little things that make these switches stand out. For example, the buttons have a solid tactile click. The main paddle switch for on/off works as expected, just slightly better - there’s a bit of depth when the paddle is pressed before reaching a tiny bump and then clicking into on/off. This tactile feedback is also on the smaller dimmer buttons and really feels luxurious (if you can say that about a switch?) I like the feel of the Meross buttons a lot better than the other switches I’m using, including some that are 4x the price.

Installation was simple enough. The app gives detailed steps, written in clear, concise English, with good illustrations, so there’s no confusion. There’s a printed guide and QR codes to a complete manual too. I thought it was a nice touch for them to include little pre-printed labels for the wiring. This saved me from mixing up the line/load wires.

The Alexa integration is excellent, almost like magic. I already had the Meross app and Alexa found the devices before I’d even finished installing them. I wish it was always this easy. Since then, Alexa hasn’t missed a single command on these switches. They work flawlessly both with direct commands (on/off, 50% brightness) and within routines.

Also, the Meross app has a few handy features that aren’t found on some of the other switches. The big one is trimming: setting up minimum and maximum brightness levels. Some LED bulbs (especially the older ones) don’t like to be turned down too low or they’ll start to flicker. Using the Meross app, it’s simple to set a minimum level. For example, anything below 35% made my lights flicker, so I just pulled the minimum up to 35% (see pic). Now, I can turn the lights to low (by button/app/voice) and not have to worry about it. The app also has its own built-in routines that includes one of my personal favorites: a countdown timer. With this, I can flip the switch on and leave it and know that it will turn itself off in X minutes. This countdown timer can also integrate with Alexa so that an Alexa routine can turn on a light and the Meross countdown will turn it off.

PS: It looks like they’re adding Smartthings support too - the app says it starts 8/24.
