I had an original kindle years ago and wasn’t a huge fan but this kindle basic has changed me. It is tiny and perfect. I find some tablets too big and uncomfortable to hold up as a book, this fits perfectly in my small hands. It’s lightweight. Fits in my purse or pocket. I find myself pulling it out often, even if it’s only for one or two pages. I have had it for 3 days and am already 1/3 way through my second novel. 100% recommend.

This small Kindle reader is a great addition, at a great price that can be taken anywhere with you for your reading pleasure. I love Asian mystery books written by Eric Van Lustbader and I bought the whole set so I could read them when I go cruising this winter and next year. The reader is small enough to take anywhere and light enough so it's easy to pack. The text is easy to read and the text size can be made as large or small as you can handle so it makes reading fun.

This is a nice ereader. This is my second one, I have one from another brand as well. You can use dark mode for night reading. Battery power lasts about a week—very satisfactory. Very wide selection of ebooks through kindle ecosystem. It is light weight and can be held in a hand for much longer than a phone. Paper books are always better. However, serious readers know that certain paper books are too heavy to lug around or even hard to find in stores. Quite happy that I spent some money on it—was totally worth it.

I’ve owned a first-generation Kindle Paperwhite for nearly a decade and have always appreciated its compact size and excellent readability outdoors and in bed at night. It’s been my trusty travel companion due to its long battery life.

Recently, when my Paperwhite’s battery finally gave out, I looked for a replacement. However, the newer PaperWhite models were larger than what I was used to. The more affordable “Amazon Kindle” (not Paperwhite) was closer in size—just a tad smaller.

While reading reviews, I noticed that the Kindle also features Dark Mode. As someone with “floaters” in my dominant eye, I find white text on a black background less bothersome. I’ve already embraced Dark Mode for my computer work, and it’s been a big help.

I’ve been using my new Kindle for over two weeks now, and I’m thrilled with it. The size is perfect, and the readability matches my old Paperwhite in all lighting conditions. Dark mode is a godsend for me.

The main difference between this model and the low-end Paperwhite seems to be the adjustable warm light feature in the latter. Personally, I’m content adjusting brightness levels, whether in Dark Mode or not.

For my old Kindle, I had a durable leather cover that lasted nine years. Since it wouldn’t fit the new device, I opted for the Denim cover, which I’m quite pleased with.

In summary, unless you specifically need the warm light or a larger device, you can save money by choosing this one!

I love my new kindle and the fact that it’s small enough to be put into almost any sized bag and be very transportable. With that being said, I got the kindle unlimited subscription with my new kindle as I was under the impression that almost any book I would like to take a look at, would be available. I quickly found that a huge variety of the books that are on my reading wish list are there, but for additional fees. This is the only downside that I have found so far as I believe that if you’re paying for a subscription with the work ‘unlimited’ in the title, it should truly have ‘unlimited’ options. I will however take this opportunity to try and branch out and find books included that I actually may enjoy that I never would’ve even thought of to read before.

I love my kindle so much! I feel as if the convenience of size and weight allows you to bring a thousand books with you wherever you go at all times. This is small and compact, making it easy to read and I don’t find it puts any strain on my hands/arms when reading throughout the day/evening. Bonus points for the adjustable lighting as I enjoy reading in the dark without waking up my partner.

Despite reading for long hours throughout the week, the battery life is amazing. I also have kindle unlimited and love the great selection of book choices.
