I was skeptical about these potty pads because of their small size. We normally buy our dog potty training pads at the local pet store and they are significantly larger (about 3 times the size). That said, we decided to give these a try. These pads have two distinct features from common potty pads: a) they have a concentric circle "bulls-eye" target printed on the pad (with some fun ears on the outer circle), and b) they have two adhesive backed strips on the reverse side (remove a tape to expose the strip) that helps the pad stay in one place.

We have a 4-month-old Havapoo who weighs 8 pounds and is progressing well with indoor potty training on large potty pads. We wanted to know if he could hit the target on the smaller pads. So, we laid out both our larger pads and these smaller pads several days in a row. Much to our surprise, our puppy was somehow drawn to the target on these small pads. When he had a choice of the larger pads or these smaller pads with a target, he more often than not tried to hit the target on the smaller pads. It was definitely fun for us to watch. The potty pads were very absorbent, but yes, if he was close to the edge (on the blue lining) the pee would run off the pad. While we won't give up the larger pads just yet, these pads are good for when your pup needs to learn to potty in a more confined area. Giving it 4 stars just because they are little too small.
