Good quality, few small issues
This is the second usb back up drive I’ve tried, the first one, while looking impressive didn’t function at all. This one, actually backed up my photos, videos and contacts despite a few small issues.The not so good things:First thing: I have an otterbox case on my phone, the lightening port area was too small to allow the drive to be plugged in. Had to remove the case, not a big deal but some cases are a pain to remove, just saying.Second thing: if you use iOS operating system, you need to download the app Y Disk in order to transfer files and allow the app to access all data, seems a little sketchy. The app itself is very basic, no frills but I’m ok with that.Third thing: make sure your phone is charged as transferring files depletes your battery really quickly and heats up your phone which I don’t like.Fourth thing: once connected, do not move your phone and do not let it go to sleep. The first couple of times I tried, I was holding my phone and the drive would randomly disconnect and I had to start over. I also forgot about it briefly, my phone went to sleep and I had to start over.Fifth thing: the usb c connector is a small stand alone piece, I fear this will get lost easily. I would have liked for it to be able to be attached to the drive somehow without restricting the lightening or usb c ports.The good things:It took about 15 minutes, but I was able to transfer 1057 photos & videos from my phone to the flash drive. No need to plug into the computer and contend with iTunes. You can also back up your entire contact list as well. My computer recognized the drive instantly and I could access my pictures.The flash drive has 32GB memory, approximately 29.9GB useable storage. Not as impressive as the 128GB one I have but still plenty of storage for transferring pictures.The price is excellent at $14.99. Even if you use it only as a backup USB drive.The USB drive feels nice and definitely gives the impression of good quality. The USB-C connector snaps on nicely and doesn’t pull off when disconnecting from the computer.Overall, I feel the few pros outweigh the cons for the pure simple reason that this actually works. I do recommend this unit! (Even if all the cons make it seem like I don’t like it.)
