Frequently Asked Questions

How do I out-of-the-box pair my Solo Buds with my iPhone?

To pair on an iPhone running the latest iOS, first make sure both earbuds are properly seated in their case. Open the lid of the case near your iPhone until you see a pairing prompt on your phone, then tap to pair. An audio cue will play when your Beats are ready to pair. Or, go to the Bluetooth menu and select “Beats Solo Buds”.

How do I pair with my Android device?

To pair using Google Fast Pair, a one-touch pairing on-screen prompt will appear on your Android device. For older Android devices or to pair manually, use the Beats app or pair in the Bluetooth menu by selecting “Beats Solo Buds”. To download the Beats app, visit the Google Play store or download from beatsbydre.com.

How do I pair with additional Bluetooth devices?

To pair to additional devices, press and hold the ‘b’ button on either the left or right earbud with the earbuds seated in the case to initiate pairing mode. An audio cue will play when your Beats are ready for pairing. Or, go to the Bluetooth menu and select “Beats Solo Buds”.

Do they have noise-canceling?

No, Beats Solo Buds do not feature Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). Beats Studio Buds+ offers both ANC and Transparency mode in a similar design.

How do you charge them?

To charge your Beats Solo Buds, place them in the case and connect your case to a power source using a USB-C charging cable. (Note: The USB-C cable and power adapter are sold separately.) An audio cue will play when the cable is connected to confirm that your Solo Buds are charging. To check the charging status, open the lid of the case near your phone. A pop-up will appear on your phone to indicate the current battery state.

How do you turn them on and off?

Beats Solo Buds automatically power on when removed from the case and power off when placed back in the case with the lid closed.

Can I control music from my earbuds?

Yes, Beats Solo Buds feature controls built into both earbuds. Use the ‘b’ button to control playback—one press to play or pause, two presses to skip ahead, or three presses to go back. Change the press-and-hold settings on your iOS or Android device running the Beats app to convert the ‘b’ buttons into volume controls. (Note: this setting replaces “Voice Assistant”.) Press and hold on one earbud to ramp the volume down and the other earbud to ramp the volume up.

How do I improve the comfort, stability, and sound quality of my Beats Solo Buds?

The earbuds’ ergonomic design features nozzles angled to match the natural shape of the ear canal. Beats Solo Buds come with four ear tip sizes — XS, S, M, and L. Medium ear tips come attached to the product. To select the correct ear tip, gently insert the earbud into your ear with ear tip affixed. You can adjust the fit of the earbud until it feels secure. Choose the most comfortable pair that provides the best sound experience for you.

Do my earbuds have a microphone?

Each earbud is equipped with a custom-designed microphone powered by an advanced noise-learning algorithm to help deliver exceptional call quality. Enjoy extended range with fewer dropouts thanks to industry-leading Class 1 Bluetooth connectivity.

Can I control calls from my earbuds?

Yes, Beats Solo Buds feature controls built into both earbuds. Use the ‘b’ button to answer or decline incoming calls—one press to answer, two presses to decline. While on a call, one press will mute and unmute, and two presses will end the call.

How do I activate Siri or other voice assistants?

Press and hold the ‘b’ button to activate your voice assistant on your iOS or Android device.

How long does the battery last?

Beats Solo Buds has up to 18 hours of battery life. If you’re low on power, Fast Fuel means a 5-minute charge gives up to 1 hour of playback.

How do I keep my product up to date?

Software updates will occasionally be made available to enable new features or improve the product experience. These “silent” updates are automatically enabled when connected to an Apple device. To stay up to date on an Android device, download the Beats app from Google Play.

Dull sound.
I love The beats brand So giving these ear buds a negative review isn’t what I was hoping for. These ear buds have very low sound, even with the volume All the way up. I found that I kept wanting to turn it up. They are cute and I love the purple colour but sadly I returned them and went with a different brand and found what I was looking for. I will say that the set up and connection with Bluetooth was easy and I liked that when the ear buds are connected it tells you the battery life on the screen. I’m disappointed because I really wanted to like these .

The Beats Solo Buds fall short of expectations, offering subpar performance that doesn't justify their price tag. I am returning these. These earbuds should be priced no higher than $50 given their significant limitations. Sound quality is the most disappointing aspect of the Solo Buds. While Beats has delivered impressive audio in some of their higher-end models, they've clearly cut corners here. The bass lacks depth and punch, while the mids and highs sound muddy and lack clarity. Even with Spatial Audio enabled on compatible tracks, the overall audio experience remains underwhelming.

Another major drawback is the Solo Buds' limited functionality. Unlike many competitors in this price range, these earbuds lack active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and wear detection. The absence of these features, which are increasingly common even in budget earbuds, severely hampers their versatility and user experience.

Volume is another area where the Solo Buds struggle. Even at maximum settings, they fail to deliver sufficient loudness for many listening environments. This inadequacy is particularly noticeable in noisier settings like gyms or public transportation, where users may find themselves straining to hear their audio content.

The physical controls on the Solo Buds are also problematic. The buttons are uncomfortable to press and can cause discomfort when used frequently. This poor design choice further detracts from the overall user experience. While the Solo Buds do offer some positives, such as a compact design and decent battery life, these advantages are overshadowed by their fundamental shortcomings in sound quality and functionality.

When I bought these I was expecting big things given the Beats brand. But was quickly disappointed. No ANC, case is not a battery, didn’t charge fully, sound quality was very mediocre. Quite frankly my Jabra, JBL and Soundcore buds are all much better at a significantly better price point.

I needed a solid pair of buds at work and considering that I really love my Beats headphones, I nabbed one of these (partly because of the purple colour). They were serviceable, good connection and distance, easy to set up, and the battery life is great, but throughout my workday I realized how awful the sound quality was and how uncomfortable the buds felt in my ears. They always feel and sound like they're falling out, even when they're all the way in. Also they do actually get too loose too often.

The sound quality matched the offerings of $50 buds I used 8 years ago, but the benefits of bluetooth wasn't worth the extra $50.

Loved the colour though.

They are super cute. I didn’t realize that the case didn’t have a battery to charge them and they didn’t work at all. I had to turn my phone up full blast to even remotely hear my music. Also the beats box inside the Amazon box was all beat up.

The quality is inferior to the other beats buds. They’ve released an “entry” product that does damage to the brand rather than showcases the quality of Beats. We returned.

Took no time to connect to my iPhone. Talked on them at work and people had no problem hearing me. Some people sounded muffled to me. Not sure if it was on my end or theirs. Very small case and earbuds are small comes with replacement ear silicone tips. Also no cable comes with them so be prepared to buy another cable or have one lying around. They also charge pretty quick.

The beats solo buds are beats option for the ones trying to save a couple bucks. At $80 i think they are a bit at the top, lacking noise cancelling and ambient mode where the market now has solid options at the price from known brands(soundcore, skullcandy, ect).
Pros
- Extremely Portable
- very good battery life on the buds(18 hours!)
- USB C case
Cons
- sound ( they are heavily tuned towards the mid range and high end, make the music very tight and thin)
-the fit( ones they are in there, they have a very strong suction)
- button controls( they will jam into your ear when you use them).
Honestly its hard to recommend the buds, to most they will sound good enough to get the job done, its just really tough to move these even at that $80 price
Me personally, i will most likely send them back as i own the beats fit pro, which easily outperform these(as they should for $199).
If you still want beats, I’ll look into the studio buds instead, much fuller sound and have ANC and ambient mode. Or any other beats earbuds above these
Sorry Apple, these are a miss for me:(

4.0 out of 5 stars Compact and Basic with Some Drawbacks

Colour Name: Storm GrayVine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )Verified Purchase
The Beats Solo Buds offer a compact and reasonably priced option, but they come with several limitations. The build feels cheap, and the lack of a battery and charging indicators in the case can be quite annoying as you can't easily check the charge status. On the positive side, the sound quality is decent. They provide only noise isolation, not active noise cancellation.
However, taking them out of the case is quite difficult. But they stay in your ears during normal activities. While they integrate well with Apple devices by showing up across all devices using the same Apple ID, switching and connecting still need to be done manually, unlike the seamless experience with AirPods.
Be mindful of the shortcomings that exists with these buds as you make your purchase decision.

I am very pleased with the sound and fit of these buds! I researched a lot before pulling the trigger. Some reviewers either seemed to be really impressed (and I assumed they were being paid) or saying they were garbage. I am glad I tried them out, because I am very happy.
