I really enjoyed the game, it was horrible at launch, but they fixed it in the update 2.0, to be honest I don't think people will give this game a second chance, it's very sad what happened because now the game is really good. The steelbook edition is beautiful btw, I think it's sold only in Canada, so it may become rare to find.

Being honest I only bought this because it was heavily discounted and I am a physical media collector.

I would never recommend this broken game from Microsoft as it is unfinished, and unplayable in many ways. Broken AI, boring open world, dull story and very flat and bland visuals. You can tell the team who made it was not into it, it was a game out of their league and probably interest. Avoid at all costs. Even being "free" on GamePass.

Redfall is a game that has tried many things and succeeded on it all.

It's a game where vampires have taken over the town and your going to rid them of it. You play as 1 of 4 survivors. They all have powers. You explore the town hunting them down and doing side-quests to level up.

The game has you rescuing people and setting up safe zones. As you grow slowly from the beginning your powers upgrade and not one of them feel like a waste of a upgrade. One of the best things about this game is that you have powers that help your team if your playing in co-op. My character had the ability to cast a elevator that shot players upwards and if you upgrade it more, gives them a boost to damage as they fly down. Someone else on my team allowed me to cloak for a few seconds and that allowed us to sneak past some enemies.

As you hunt the vampires down they disapate into ashes and you can gain a valuable weapon in it, or get one from the friendly villager.

The game lasts about 20-30 hours and just when I was getting the hang of it, we went to new map and it seemed like the process started all over again, which was fun because I liked leveling up and searching through the world. There is a strong sense of story telling in the world that you have to put together.

It's not running at 60 fps at the moment but it runs just fine at 30. The developer has made plans to keep updating and patching the game, this game should of landed in the 75 outta 100. There are slight glitches but nothing is horribly broken and it's good to play with others. I wish there were more enemy encounters as well as just more general monsters. I loved my time in Redfall and feel like I should go back when I have more time.

I mostly bought it for the steel book. Considering the always online part, it is a bit of a counter to physical collectors as if they take the servers down even the physical version will stop to work.
