I thought this movie was amazing, there were a few things on First watch that I felt were issues but upon watching it again I really think this is one of the best Halloween sequels I've ever seen.
In terms of honoring the original characters and bringing a new ones, Myers is at his all time high of brutality. I really enjoyed the mob hunt aspect of it, and despite all their hopes that they could end this... Hit results in the discovery that Myers is far more powerful than just a human being... He is officially an entity beyond human physics.
Some of the scenes in this were shot so beautifully... Notably when the firefighters arrived at the burning house.
I think this along with Halloween 2018 are far better than I would have ever expected, and I think they're far better than any of the sequels we've gotten previously.
