Fantastic smart 3-way light switch.I'm using this in a standard setup (one switch for one light).I have 3 wemo smart light switches, including two dimable ones, and the Leviton blows them away in features and ease of setup.First tings first, connecting the wires.If you're opening up a classic switch, the black wires connecting to the old light switch, one should be painted with a white strip (indicating it's the one going to the load or light) and the other left as is.Take those two and treat them as line and load for the Leviton instruction booklet.Leviton also provides a small strip of white wire to allow you to get the neutral. Normally, your white (neutral) will be tucked into the back of the junction box and capped. You'll need to uncap and add the white they provide and most likely need a larger wire nut. You should also connect the ground, which is probably rolled up in the back of the junction box as well. I've attached a pic to show what I'm talking about, in case this is your first time trying something like this.Now onto the smart part.Wow, easy setup. Install the Leviton app, create an account and then just follow steps to add a new device.So easy. Btw, pressing the switch for 6-7 seconds resets the wifi info.You can control all aspects of the light via the app (lots of features, it's impressive). Let the app know if you're controlling LED light, CFL or the incandescent type, so it can adjust the way it dims.I attached a screen shot of some of the options available.Once you have that setup, you can go to google home and link your Leviton account and add the switch. I can now activate the light from anywhere through my phone or voice commands wherever I have my Google home or mini (or google nest as it's being called now).I love this switch and will most likely get two more of these for my kitchen rather then the wemo was I was considering.

I installed this to control my fireplace fans which were previously controlled using a standard rotary dimmer. The fans are very low wattage and run at about .5 amperes each which combined is about the the equivalent of two 60 watt light bulbs.

So far it is working perfectly and it allows me to control the speed at any percentage I select on the dimmer and I can set a schedule to turn the fan off at night. Having the ability to control the fan using Alexa is a real bonus.

NOTE: I would recommend this 600 watt unit over the 300 watt unit if you plan to use it to operate a small fan because fans draw more power when they start than when they are running and a 300 watt dimmer may not be adequate. Also, if you are looking to control a ceiling fan you need to use Leviton model DW4SF.

Bought my third switch this week. These work very well. It is important to know that these require what is called a neutral wire. Without it they don't work. This means that you should have either two black wires and a white wire or a red a black and a white wire in your switch box. If you have only two wires a white and a black this switch will not work.

Although not mentioned this unit integrates with Google Assistant very well and very easily.

Finally leviton customer support is exceptional. It is easy to reach them by phone and they are very knowledgeable and friendly.

It would be almost perfect if not for the fact that it looses connection to the cloud about every 2 weeks. You need to go through the reset procedure which doesn’t work and you are forced to delete and add the switch to your system. It’s not a big issue if you have one but can be annoying if you have several in your house. I would still recommend it but that’s is why I deducted one star. It greatly integrates into the smart home ecosystem.

I am not a computer tech but have installed a 36 channel in ceiling sound system, my in home network, blue tooth thermostats, designed and wired my home theatre and numerous other systems and electronics.

Bottom line, if it is possible to get this switch to work with an IPhone 10, it’s not worth the time and trouble. I suggest there is an issue that needs to be resolved. Switch returned.
