I have fine shoulder-length hair so I can't speak for anyone with thick hair, but this hair dryer was perfect for me! It is the perfect power to dry hair without blowing it so aggressively that it's impossible to style. The two attachments are great for styling, the high vs. low power settings and cool air setting are also convenient. It's not particularly quiet, but it's light and compact and aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. I've had it for over 6 months now with no issues and regular use.
