General review:
I have to say, I am super impressed with Ring. Firstly, my iSmart Alarm went out of business and all of my previous security system became totally useless. So I vowed to buy a security system from a trusted brand with powerful financial backing. Ring made the list, since it is backed by Amazon and boy am I happy I made the decision to go with Ring.
App:
Firstly, the app is extremely well designed. Everything was set up so easily and I love the integration with Alexa. Call me an Amazon fanboy, but seriously, this is just great design in every way. No discernible flaws at all so far.
Range:
One crazy thing is how good the range is on these door sensors. I live in an apartment building on the 3rd floor and was curious if using the range extension device would really extend the range of devices. Well, does it ever! I was able to walk down to my storage locker, which is literally four floors directly below my apartment, and install one of the extra door sensors right on my storage locker door! I thought it would stop working halfway down my hallway but no! It cut out only when I was going down the stairwell on the far side of my building but it came back when I was in my storage locker (four floors down!). I had to do a bit of a custom install to put it on the inside, but it worked! Can you believe it? I mean, wow. That’s nuts. I didn’t even plan on securing my storage locker but it is protected now amazingly. So I mean, if you live in a four storey house or live in an apartment complex like I do and want your storage locker door monitored, it actually works! Mind you I can’t vouch for every apartment since building materials are different everywhere and some buildings are larger and more spaced out than others but I’m tellin you... four storeys down, it still detects! Crazy good.
