The phone is, as far as I can tell, basically brand new from factory. There are no scratches or other defects at all on the device. Battery also seems to be new. Possibly this was a refurb renewed by Samsung
The only complaint I have is that the phone was not packaged very well in the box. It was basically rattling around in the cardboard box with some plastic wrapping over the screen. That being said there were no defects upon arrival.
