Review for: "64GB Voice Recorder, OnceJoy Digital Voice Recorder with Metal Shell and Noise Reduction, for Lectures Meetings Interviews"
Brand: OnceJoy

The voice recorder came with a strap, controller, ear buds, English and French user manuals, USB-C to USB-A cord, and USB-C to USB-C cord (for newer computers). The recorder may only work with the charging cables that comes with it, so be careful to label it well so you have it when you need it.

The voice recorder is 2 1/8" x1 5/16" x 1/4" (5.4 cm x 3.3 cm x 0.6 cm). The weight is only 21g, or 22g with the strap attached. It has the words "VOICE RECORDER" in white block letters on the front, and also 'ON" and "OFF". On the back it says "Digital Voice Recorder", "Model: V15", Capacity: 64 GB". And also the word "RESET" beside a small hole. Most of the other voice recorders I've used are just plain black.

This recorder has a simple on/off switch to easily turn the recorder on and off. When turned on, there is a purple light, then flashing red light, then goes off. When turned off, a red light comes on momentarily. While charging, there is a red flashing light that turns to blue when fully charged.

It is easy to change the date and time. Just go to Windows explorer while the recorder is plugged into the computer, and find the "USB DISK". There will be a "RECORD" folder with all the MP3 files, and "Settime" folder to change the time. In the Setttime" folder, double-click the "Settime" file and it will come up with a pop-up on screen "SetUDiskTime". Just press the button labeled "SetTime" and it will upload the USB voice recorder with the current date and time on the computer.

In the RECORD folder, it seems that the files are labeled with the date and time, but the "date modified" showing is the end time of the recording. For instance I have file "R20240524-005014" with a modified date of 2024-05-24 1: 19 AM. The recording is 29 minutes long and size is 33,980 KB. This would have been recorded May 24th 2024 from 12:50 a.m. to 1:19 a.m.

There is no auto shut off or set file length on this recorder. I find the ones with 15 minute or 1 hour recordings are better, because if you forget to shut it off, you don't have one long recording; you can just delete all the other files.

This recorder can also play mp3 music files.
