These come in a pack of 2 brushes. I have long hair that is curly. When I opened the package, some of the bristles were missing, others were bent, on both of the brushes. I brushed my hair, and it does go through tangles without hurting, but the bristle are very soft, and you actually don't feel the brush on your scalp. I'm not sure whether this is deliberate, but I've never used a brush that I can't feel against my head when brushing.
