Customer Review

But I just couldn't. I think I fell in love today.

The pieces snap easily together AND come apart easily. The head doesn't swivel all over hell's half acre, and I was a bit concerned about the weight, but with the vacuum doing most of the moving, it was a rather enjoyable experience. And it LITERALLY untangled my long hair from the beater bar, and there it was, in the easy to empty refuse cup. I'm not quite sure what the regular bare floor setting is all about, but the motor slows down, so I just kept it on the carpet setting, and it did brilliantly.

It's also quite quiet, and I didn't even consider that when I bought it. I wanted a cordless vacuum that can run for at least 20 minutes on high suction, that didn't fall down every time I propped it against something, didn't leave a mess for me to untangle on the beater bar, and didn't frustrate me to death trying to put it together and take it apart. I made the investment because I have two pain disorders that are disabling, and I wanted vacuuming to be an easy, no thought chore that didn't force me to lie down for 45 minutes afterwards or pop pain killers.

I've used a Dyson. I can't afford a Dyson. But in real life, I honestly don't need my vacuum to have THE BEST EVER SUCTION ON THE PLANET. What for? This picks up the dirt, the cat fur, and my own hair from carpet and bare floor alike, it has great maneuverability, and I have no idea how long it takes to recharge because I don't vacuum every day, so I don't care.

The bonus? It was refurbished so I got it at a shockingly great price (an itsy bitsy tiny nick on the top of the beater bar casing that I had to go looking for to find). I recommend it if all they say is that it has a cosmetic defect.

If you don't have the disposable income needed to afford a Dyson, I'd recommend this vacuum. I really was prepared to be disappointed again (so many vacuums tried, so many failed), but Shark has pleasantly surprised me (which is the sedate way of saying I'm doing a crazy happy dance in my head).
