A Court of Thorns and Roses Kindle Edition

The sexy, action-packed first book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series from Sarah J. Maas.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.

At least, he's not a beast all the time.

As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin-and his world-forever.

From bestselling author Sarah J. Maas comes a seductive, breathtaking book that blends romance, adventure, and faerie lore into an unforgettable read.

This is such a well written and captivating story. The characters feel so complex with rich backstories that made me fall in love with them. Even characters I disliked at the beginning, started to grow on me when I understood their motivations. I thoroughly enjoyed the pacing and how well timed certain reveals were. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Such a page turner!! I'm excited to read more!

**Title:** A Court of Thorns and Roses
**Author:** Sarah J. Maas
**Rating:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐

**Review:**
"A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas is a captivating fantasy novel that weaves a complex and magical world filled with enchanting characters and intricate plotlines. The story, set in a richly imagined faerie realm, follows Feyre Archeron, a young huntress, as she navigates a world divided between humans and faeries.

The narrative unfolds at a deliberate pace, with the initial chapters setting the stage for the broader conflicts and introducing readers to the diverse cast of characters. The book's strength lies in its meticulous character development, as each figure comes to life with their own unique traits, motivations, and secrets. The intricate relationships and alliances contribute to the depth of the story, making it essential to invest time in understanding the characters' backgrounds and intricacies.

While the pacing may be considered slow by some readers, it is a deliberate choice that serves the purpose of establishing a solid foundation for the overarching narrative. The gradual build-up pays off as the story progresses, leading to intense and gripping moments that wouldn't have the same impact without the careful groundwork laid in the earlier chapters.

Maas's writing style is vivid and immersive, allowing readers to vividly picture the lush landscapes and magical elements of the faerie world. The author skillfully combines elements of romance, adventure, and political intrigue, creating a narrative that appeals to a wide range of readers.

The novel's four-star rating is a reflection of its overall excellence, with the deduction attributed to the initial slow pacing. However, this should not deter readers, as the investment in understanding the characters is crucial to fully appreciate the unfolding events and the depth of the relationships that drive the story forward.

In conclusion, "A Court of Thorns and Roses" is a compelling fantasy novel that rewards patience with a richly layered narrative, complex characters, and a world that seamlessly blends magic and reality. For those willing to invest the time in getting to know the characters, the payoff is a deeply satisfying and immersive reading experience.

While my copy did come damaged (from the manufacture), it was still a stunning book. The black and gold foiling is so well done. The scene that it depicts being such a pivotal moment in the books was such a good choice. It's a must have for any collector, of fan of the series!

I was so happy to find this series of books! Complex characters, beautiful dialogue, strong females, action, intrigue, twists and turns, it is heartbreaking, breathtaking, soul wrenching and up-lifting - bringing out all the feels. The world she creates is dynamic, devastating and delicious! Hot chemistry too! Each book delivers without fail. I didn't want the books to ever end.

This is a hard one for me to explain why I rated it 4 stars. Let me start with this. Overall this writer has a way with words that I haven't seen in a long time. The book is well written and very descriptive. I am not normally a fantasy reader, but I was very intrigued with the story line.
With that being said, I don't know if I am missing something here. I know that this is a popular book series and everyone is raving about it, but I am not sure if I will be continuing on with book 2. To me, the main male character is background noise. I don't even understand how he is the main character. I feel like I am missing something. I absolutely detested Tamlin throughout the whole book. Rhysand was the main character the moment he entered the story. Even Lucien would have been the better choice. I am not sure if this is done by the author on purpose, or if I am the only one who feels this way. Since I don't personally know anyone else who has read this series, I am unsure whether or not to carry on reading this series, due to the way it ended. I also can't tell if the story was built up too much before I had read it, causing me to feel this way. It truly does deserve a 5 but because of the issue with the MMC, I cannot rate it that way.

I have just experienced my first fantasy read and can say that I am so happy that it was recommended to me as my first! A world above and beyond our own. A host of the good and the bad, perfectly mixed into a believable human existence.
I am ready for the rest!

"A Court of Thorns and Roses" has firmly secured its place as my all-time favorite series, second only to "Throne of Glass." Maas' writing is simply exquisite, drawing readers into a world brimming with magic, romance, and intrigue.

Perfect for those new to fantasy reads, this series seamlessly weaves together elements of fairy tales, romance, and epic adventure. From the moment I picked up the first book, I was completely captivated, unable to put it down until I reached the very last page.

Maas' storytelling prowess shines through with vivid world-building and well-developed characters that leap off the page. The journey of Feyre, the protagonist, is both thrilling and emotionally resonant, keeping readers eagerly turning pages to discover what happens next.

If you're seeking a beautifully written and immersive fantasy series, look no further than "A Court of Thorns and Roses." Prepare to be swept away into a world you won't want to leave!

This book introduced me to the world of Fantasy Romance and now I cannot look back. SJM has outdone herself, by writing such a simple story in a such a beautiful way that it just keeps you engaged throughout. You can relate to the characters in extreme depth and the world building is next level!! I swear sometimes I close my eyes and I feel I am standing in the midst of the Spring Court. Please give it a read. I promise it’s a different genre for the newcomers but the beautiful story needs to be read by as many as possible. Next HP on the way!
