The new xbox controllers have lots of texture, unlike the xbox360 ones - but it's hard plastic bumps and not very comfortable. Also, the joysticks are concave at the top, I guess to fit your thumbs in there. Idk if you guys remember, but in the 1st gen xbox controller, the right joystick was convex, not concave. It was rounded at the top basically, I guess like a Sony controller. Thats what the little joystick covers in this kit do - they make the top rounded instead of concave, which I find way gripper and easier for my thumbs.
This joystick shape, along with the nice lines on the sidegrip. make this a comfy controller to hold now. The sidegrips also have extra padding to make the controller even more ergonomic. They did what Microsoft didn't do tbh.
The silicone is thick and sturdy, none of that flimsy cheap silicone that is all floppy and shapeless. I'm not as worried about dropping this thing now.
The back also has a cutout for easy battery removal. I don't have to remove the skin to remove the battery cover. That would've been a dealbreaker for me.
My controller is blue, so I chose the midnight blue skin. It looks nice, especially with the black joystick covers and black and white accents on the controller itself. This made me fall in love with my new controller, which I wasn't thrilled with originally. I have used a xbox 360 controller for a literal decade (it literally has faded crayon from where I colored it as a kid) until the wire fell apart, so switching to the new style was hard - until this skin eased the transition and made me excited about my controller again. Really recommend. It feels like it will last as long as the controller does.
