Dimensions may vary by configuration and manufacturing process. [6]Compared to earlier Pixel phones. [2]Estimated battery life based on testing using a media Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk data, standby and use of other features. I had the phone for 4 days now and I love it. It came brand new in the case just like in the store. I had Samsung before but you can't beat the pixel quality and for the price. I was nervous to order a phone through amazon and is worth it, I would definitely do it again

I upgraded from a Pixel 6 Pro to this phone. While some might call moving from the 6 Pro to the 8 Pro an incremental change, I would disagree. The 6 Pro is a fine device, but everything about the 8 Pro is just appreciably better. As a matter of fact, the Pixel 8 Pro is simply the best phone I have ever owned (among Google, Motorola, Samsung, Blackberry, and OnePlus phones).

The transfer of data from the Pro 6 and setup of the new Pro 8 was remarkably quick and simple (I am amazed at how far we have come from the “good old days” when it sometimes took hours to successfully move everything from one phone to another and then many more hours to get your new phone functioning and looking like your old phone).

What I like: Sophisticated, premium look and feel (love the rounded corners, matte back, brushed aluminum frame and nicer looking camera bar); bright, vibrant screen; stable, accelerated performance; smooth swiping and scrolling; faster charging; better battery life; better phone call reception; call screening; real-time language translation; face unlock (also works with banking apps, Google Pay, password managers, etc.); multiple SIM functionality (including multiple eSIM and dual-SIM capability); louder, richer and more balanced speaker sound; fantastic cameras with advanced AI tools (for all intents and purposes, puts a portable version of Photoshop on your phone); AI-infused audio and video; pure Android experience (missing the irritating crapware found on many other Android phones); Android OS and security updates (along with future feature drops) for a minimum of seven years; and a flat screen that works better for screen protectors than the curved screen of the Pixel 6 Pro.

What I don’t like: The price for Pixel phones is relatively high in Canada and there appears to be few of the deals regularly available in the U.S. (Canadians being shortchanged and taken for granted by U.S.-based multinational corporations again! What else is new, eh?); resale or trade-in value for used Pixel phones appears to be ridiculously low in Canada (even Google, itself, offers a much lower trade-in value for Canadian buyers than for U.S. buyers) and their value seems to depreciate more quickly than some other phones.

If you are an Android user and are willing/able to spend $1000+ CAD (as I write this, $1350) for a premium phone, you'll probably love the Pixel 8 Pro.

So I bought this phone a week ago and everything about the smartphone is as smooth as butter from navigating through the software to playing any games you want with it, it can run all without any problems, the camera is also very very good on this phone it takes very well detailed shots(i have compared it to my friends 13 pro max and the 8pro just completely obliterates it, but that's a 2 yr old flagship so I was expecting a big gap but the cameras on the 8 pro are just wow). The most important selling point for this phone were the many AI heavy features and editing tools that we were getting with this smartphone and even though some features still need to come after a software update this phone already has more features than everyone else in the market(from using call screening and magic eraser I can say that the software experience of this device is second to none).

Now, if Amazon let me give a 4.5 star review I would give this phone just that, even though this phone has everything top notch going for it, I can still experience some software bugs in the UI (it doesn't make a ton of difference because it happens very randomly and goes away with just one press of the power button) the screen today morning when i woke up just kept on blacking out and the keyboard was acting weird but I restarted the phone and it went away, most of the software bugs in this phone are related to "hey Google" or Google assistant (or that's what I feel) as most of the times i experience a bug in the phone "hey Google" automatically turns off and you'll need to turn it back on to use voice command again.

Bugs- I made a section to talk about this as some of them could be a bit trouble some for a few people but something worth mentioning here is that these will be fixed later in a software update so it's not that worrying but still,

1.jittery scrolling- the phone lags a bit in some apps(Instagram, reddit, etc i can't remember them all) and the jitter isn't really that much concerning though it barely jitters it feels more like a network issue than a phone jitter tbh.

2.black screen-this did not happen to me but I've seen people talk about it

3.camera shadow bug- sometimes the camera just starts acting weird and makes the shadows look weird(it's like it can't properly process in some dark settings)

4.battery draining faster while using 5g-this might be concerning for a few but it's not terrible (the battery doesn't just go from 24hrs to 8) but the battery is drastically reduced, when I leave for University I always have a full battery charge and when I come back it's reduced to just 40% for 6hrs of minor usage, it makes the battery go from very good to just average and Idk why that happens maybe it's just the 5g technology but it's kinda weird for a phone to go almost 1.5 days on wifi but just 10-12 hrs on 5g.

Honestly, if you'll take my word this is a very very good smartphone and I'm thoroughly enjoying using it, some of the AI features on this phone are very useful like being able to set up your Google assistant routine when u wake up or being able to translate at will with just one voice command(it's masterfully crafted) and so much more, everything about this phone feels polished from the design to the look to the display (my god the display on this phone is just...😩) but by far the most impressive thing about this phone is its software experience/UI, its silky smooth with everything connecting together in such a fluid way that it's just very satisfying to use(even more so than ios imo)

This phone is good enough that I hope to use it for the next 5 years at least. I changed my Pixel 6 to this one because I was dissatisfied with some of my travel pictures. The resolution wasn't what I was hoping for. This Pixel 8 Pro gives my 5X Optical Zoom. I off on a trip now and will be able to report if it was worth it.

It being a Pixel phone, reassures me. It is not crap! Just a tad expensive.

Oh! I also love the monthly patches and the fact that we get the latest and greatest software improvements very quickly.

Actually decided to upgrade for once and can't say I'm disappointed. Phone is snappy and very bright! Heard about some overheating issues but personally I've had no problems. Battery life is also around 1.5 days with normal use

It is a wonderful phone. However, it needs a qualified expert to write a book. This is especially so for the photo edits. There are other places where a book would be useful.

The camera is great on this phone but that's about it. When I first got it, it wouldn't connect to my wifi. Got a new router and that fixed it. Sometimes it takes a while to connect to our android tv when my Oneplus seemed seamless. The battery drains quickly when using maps and video calling, and sometimes the navigation buttons are unresponsive. I thought I would be stepping up to a more refined phone, it feels more like a slower version of what I had.
