Great set!!!
I love that you not only get the experience of digging gemstones with this but also a little water squirt bottle (though we wound up using a larger one we had at home), a tiny clipboard and some fun little pages with sticker to label/catalogue the gems as well as a cute little treasure chest to store them. My 8 year old son had a great time using all the tools to chip, dig, scrape and brush through all the “dirt” to find the gems in the center. It does make the mess you’d expect, but it was easy to sweep up on my front porch after it was done (I would not do this indoors personally). I will say that I was initially quite impressed at how sturdy the tools seemed to be, but a couple did snap by the time we’d gotten through the majority of the digging. Luckily they were still useful enough to get the last of the gems out and be sure none were missed. We also happily received 14 gems instead of the expected 12, noting that that quartz and red coral were doubled. Overall this is a fantastic set and my son had LOTS fun discovering/uncovering the gems. Highly recommend this!
