This is a very nice and a quality product by Govee. First, I bought the previous version (T1), but after watching several review videos I quickly discovered that there is an upgraded version (T2) that just came out (late fall 22), so I went for it. After all, it’s supposed to have a better dual camera and 40% better lights. When I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised because you could see right away that the product has been significantly improved. From the camera, to the strip lights, everything felt premium. Since I bought the T1, I knew that I had to buy an additional power cord extension (DC12) for under 14$ to be able to hide the main power supply wire behind the wall, otherwise depending on your set up the wire could be short, or not.

Everything is installed, it took no longer than 30 mins, no wires showing on my mounted 60inch TV, the lights are calibrated and look absolutely fantastic. I played the 'Life In Color With David Attenborough' on Netflix to test it out and demonstrate it to my wife and we were both happy with how the lights were adjusting to the colourful images. You have two options for that function, gaming and movie. Look up review videos with most views and see for yourself how awesome this is. One thing for sure though, no video or a picture can replace the reality, that is when you’re watching an immersive spectacle that takes your home theater set up to a whole other level. Enjoy folks.

Been looking at these for a while and finally decided to get them, extremely happy. The set up is super simple and configuration is even easier. They make watching shows and movies more dynamic and enjoyable and makes graphics look even better. Great for sports and regular shows/movies. I find them better with cartoons/anime because of how they use their colours in the shows. 11/10

I upgraded from a T1 to the T2. I have installed it on 65" t.v. The problem is it's so hard to calibrate. I have done everything properly, but the right side camera is 1) brighter and 2) doesn't show movement like the left camera. I only use it with all the lights off as well.so there is no chance of any light affecting the camera.
Showed all my screen shots, including calibration shots and videos to support and have been told it's lights reflecting on the screen (this is not the case) I am definitely returning this and going back to the T1 that worked just fine. Mind you if the T3 worked properly it would be amazing! Becasue the left side is amazing, even matches the colour good with under 10 saturation. Just need to work on that second camera Grovee

Update: I raised it to 4 stars because of many many many hours of calibration and only using the orange stickers as a starting point. I managed to get it right. It looks amazing now it is working properly. Just use You Tube calibration videos. Use the orange sticker video or stickers to calibrate the camera, then watch the colour wheel video keep pausing it and move the points up or down just a little. Once it matches the colour to the lights you have it. Again it's very very very hard to get it right. Moved my saturation to 1 and OH BIG ONE HERE..DO NIT USE THE SAME BRIGHTNESS BUTTON. That was my biggest mistake.

Good luck! If you have patience and time to adjust it all. It ends up looking amazing. Better then the T1, and the T2 actually blacks out when the screen goes black which is what I was looking for. Hope this helps a little.

I had done some simple bias lighting with my TV before, and it was nice, but this Govee system is truly next level!! There was a firmware update shortly after I got mine that installed smoothly (via the smartphone app) and made it even cooler. My 65" TV is on a stand in the corner of the room, so the top and bottom lights are a bit different, but this unit has the ability to alter the brightness of each section of lights, so I got it balanced rather nicely and it look great. After calibration the lights track what's on the screen very well, and the active lighting is SO much nicer than just a static bias light. Of course, you can make these any colour of static bias light as well if you want, still with the ability to alter the brightness of each section to create the effect you desire. There's a number of other functions that I haven't even begun exploring, but I am sure they are cool too!!
The only thing I kind of complain about is how when the edge of the screen is essentially black, the light defaults to a kind of yellow-orange that I don't really like... it would be nice if you could set the default "black" setting in a custom manner (or maybe you can and I just haven't figured out how yet) but this is a very small complaint in comparison to how great everything else is.

I would definitely recommend this Govee product to anyone looking for a high quality TV backlight system.

This product works very well and really enhances your viewing experience. It is a little fussy to set up and connect and requires care and attention when doing so. But once up and running it works very well.

It is very difficult to actually accurately match the colors on the screen with the colors on the lights. I think even more so with my OLED TV, hence only four stars instead of five .

Alexa integration is okay but not great. Simple commands are easily followed. Turn on turn off. Increase intensity of light, etc. but more complex commands do not work so reliably.

Even so, I am quite happy with my purchase and would recommend this device. It is well made and appears to be of good quality.

Easy to install following the instructions. Recommend watching a couple of videos on YouTube to pick up little tips around installation and calibration to make things easier and improve the experience.

As an example, I discovered before I installed mine if the lights are installed on the very outer edges of the back of the TV you might be able to see the actual LEDs when you are sitting to the far left or right of the TV while watching a show. I mounted mine roughly 10mm in from the edges, but the back of my TV is completely flat from edge to edge. If your TV has beveled/angled outer edges you might need to experiment before sticking them down.

The instructions also direct you to calibrate the system for your individual TV which I highly recommend. Out of the box the lights are set to "vivid" which was initially spectacular, but I discovered it was a bit too intense for movies. although probably perfect for gaming. Using the Govee app on a tablet I changed the setting to "smooth" with a bit of additional calibration which has improved the experience for us.

So, what's it like. Fantastic. With the addition of a new Atmos sound system I bought recently I was watching a show where the onscreen characters were inside a creepy old house while a storm was raging outside. Between the rumbling of the sound system and the Govee lights flashing in sync with the lightning on the screen I felt like I was in an actual storm. Overall, the LEDs are very responsive to the action on the screen with some very minor delays which are not noticeable unless you are looking for them. Afterall the lights are meant to be in your peripherals given you are watching the screen, not the wall. If you like to be immersed in your movies and not just watching them this is definitely a good addition to your home theatre.
