Some negative reviews for this dock stem from misunderstanding the Steam Deck's limitations. VIDEO: I can confirm this device is HDMI 2.0 (up to 4k @ 60fps). Currently the Steam Deck's OS (stable version) does not support changing the external display resolution, so using this device, I get a 4k image (the default, since my TV is 4k). I'm looking forward to an update from Valve that will let us lower the resolution, for better game performance. CHARGING: this dock can definitely handle the full 45W the Steam Deck accepts. I also tested with my 80W laptop, and it charged full speed, so I have no reason to doubt their claim of up to 100W. EVERYTHING ELSE: I haven't tried the USB ports but I'm sure they're fine - standard USB hub stuff. The build quality is good: its light but stays in place easily when set down. I mostly use it as a charging stand, until Valve releases the update for configuring external displays.

I did not want to pay $140 for official Steam Deck dock with all the exact same features.

Many reviews reported issues if using HDMI switch or Ethernet hub/router.

Thought id try this one out, everything works perfectly as long as there is no other hardware between the dock and your components.
From the dock my HDMI goes straight to TV (No HDMI switch in between), Ethernet goes straight to modem (No hub or router in between), then for USB's I have 1 for external HDD, 1 for PS4 charging stand, and one for Couchmaster Cycon² which has my KB, Mouse and Headset.

If you require additional USB like I do, I can only confirm it works when using a Powered USB Hub, the Cycon² has its own power plug so its not trying to power all the peripherals through the Dock, if you try and power everything through the dock alone, then your Steam Deck will most likely not be able to charge while in use.

I'm extremely satisfied with this dock and 100% recommend trying this before spending $140+ on the official dock.

The only thing I would change about the dock, is making it heavier. The steam deck has some chunk to it and the little light weight dock doesn't take much to move. something with some weight to it might just add the stability it's missing. Otherwise as far as connecting the device to my TV. flawless. meets all my needs there.

Really happy with this dock, there are so many options out there so I looked for a while and finally decided on this dock given the price and options included on the dock itself. Luckily the product is great and functions great. Deck is nice and sturdy inside theres plenty of usb hubs and it all works well. My only thing is I wish these came in white so it would match my Steamdeck and setup (all white) but thats it.

I recently purchased the 6-in-1 TV Docking Stand for my Steam Deck and have been extremely impressed with its performance. The Gigabit Ethernet port and 4K HDMI output have allowed me to enjoy a much faster and more stable network connection while playing my favorite video games on my TV. The USB Type-C PD fast charging port is a great feature as well, ensuring that my Steam Deck stays powered while I play.

In addition to its excellent performance in Game Mode, the TV docking stand also works well in Desktop Mode. The 3 USB 3.0 ports allow me to easily connect my keyboard and mouse, making it easy to use my Steam Deck as a desktop computer.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the 6-in-1 TV Docking Stand for Steam Deck. It's a convenient and reliable way to enhance my gaming experience and get the most out of my Steam Deck. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an efficient way to connect their Steam Deck to their TV or monitor.

I have say this dock by far exceeds my expectations. I was disappointed in first model by this company but they made up for in this dock. Well to start it auto recognized all my custom settings for my monitor and Ethernet. I was worried there would be a issue charging but after 3 days it works perfectly.
There still is an issue with steam deck battery software so if your going to push max settings in a graphic heavy game its still going to drain battery. This isn't the docks fault it's working as designes. it's the deck acting more like a handheld gaming console (which it is) then a PC. You can try different charging adapters but unless there made for steam deck you may just end up frying it. The software is still using your battery even if you have plugged in during a heavy gaming session so it will still drain. There been an update for this back in February I believe but nothing more current and still in beta so there going to be some bugs.
This deck will make you smile for price you pay you get fast 1 gig Ethernet connection. 3 USB ports that work great with a gaming mouse and keyboard and 1 HDMI connection to plug in your favorite monitor. I'll say it takes some time to dial in your monitor settings so old trial and error works pretty good, just don't be like me and max font things so there so big ti take you 30 mins to find the button again lol.
By the way here's a top of you want to improve battery life for now limit your FPS to 30. I know it's farcry from big 60FPS but at least you can game all day with no recharge time.

This dock is a must buy while we wait for steam to get off it's rear and release something.

Enjoy!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't charge; Ethernet slower than wifi. Edit: some initial problems fixed
Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2022

When I use this thing, my battery % doesn't change. It doesn't go down, but it doesn't increase either. I have gigabit internet, and so far I'm getting less than half the speeds I'm getting with wifi. I haven't tried the tv out functionality, because I'm probably going to send this thing back. For $50, I'm really disappointed. I guess I'll just wait for Valve to make one.

Since I first wrote this I come to realize that the steam deck not charging is a feature of the deck that prevents you from degrading your battery too quickly. The company I bought this device from even contacted me about a replacement, but that was after I realized that this part was not defective. I’m still not sure what the issue with the Ethernet is. I can drop out to the Linux desktop, run a speed test, and get 940 Mbps (which is my rated speed). When I actually download games from steam, it’s still faster to use the Wi-Fi, which is maybe just a bit above half of my rated speed, assuming the deck is spring on the deck right above the wireless router. Now here is a genuine complaint, and I imagine it applies to nearly all of these dock. The USB ports needed to be spaced just a little farther apart. If you’re trying to use a keyboard dongle, a usb flash drive, and possibly something like an external hard drive (I set up some emulators), you’re going to have a hard time making it all fit. Regardless, it still makes it nice to be able to copy and back up files from the deck without having to use the network for everything. So, would I buy this thing again? Yeah. I think I would. I’ve used the heck out of it since I’ve got it. It’s got a few quirks, but it’s something you do really need if you get a steam deck. Also, just buy a Bluetooth keyboard. Some things in life just aren’t worth the hassle.

Edit: with the new steam OS update, 4k 60hz works flawless, fullyrecommend the dock
But I still can't figure out how to get the games to show 4k.
But it may be a steam OS issue

Previous review: it works and it’s ok but not as advertised

The video they use to show the “60hz”. Is of the monitor settings. Not the system settings

Great dock to start off with
Not sure how to set the steam deck to 4k.

But 720p on the TV looks great at 60hz

Pros:
Runs on my 4k TV without being stuck at 30hz
Plug and play
Charging pass through
Allows me to hook up SSDs and drives to the unit and charge at the same time

Cons:
It feels cheap
Comes in cheap generic box

I got my Steam Deck awhile back but before I even got the Steam Deck I was told to get a dock like this since the ones Steam make are expensive but not that great. This is a nice cheap alternative and works very well for what it is! I say that if you are new in the Steam Deck family, this is a nice choice!
