SIZE, COMFORT & WEIGHT:
The HyperX Pulsefire Haste is very light but fortunately, it doesn't sacrifice comfort for the sake of weight savings. The FinalMouse Ultralight 2 in comparison is solely focused on weight savings to the point where it sacrifices too much.
The Pulsefire haste has taken a much more reasonable approach to an ultra-lightweight mouse. It ends up being 12 grams heavier than the Ultralight 2 but what it gains is increased comfort from both the slightly larger size and lack of weight savings holes where your thumb and ring finger rest, Thank god for that.
The size of the Pulsefire haste is nicely balanced so it will be a great fit for anyone without abnormally small or large hands.
Length: 124.2mm, Height: 38.2mm, Width: 66.8mm
WEIGHT: 59 grams. The Glorious Model O in comparison is 69 Grams.

SWITCHES:
This mouse does NOT use Omron switches. Omron has traditionally been known for quality switches but in the last few years, they seem to have developed a terrible double-clicking issue so I've made it a point to stay away from these switches until they resolve this issue in their manufacturing.
This mouse uses "TTC Golden micro switches". I can't comment on the long-term reliability of these switches yet but my first impression of them is very good. There is the normal variance in the feel/sound between the left and right-click but this is common across all mice as it's impossible to have perfect tolerances when it comes to manufacturing. No real complaints on the left/right-click buttons.
The forward/back and DPI switches are acceptable but not exceptional. The DPI button feels fine but the click is quite muted. The forward/back buttons have a decent click but feel a bit mushy/creaky compared to some other mice I've used recently.
The mouse scroll needs improvement, It's simply too hard to click. More defined bumps between each scroll would also be nice.
-------------------------------
SENSOR:
Pixart 3335 sensor. A solid and accurate optical sensor. No complaints here.
-------------------------------
CABLE:
"HyperFlex USB Cable is made from light, flexible paracord material designed to reduce tension and resistance for easier mouse movement."
This is an accurate statement. No complaints. This is an important feature of a wired gaming mouse. Having a heavily braided cable or a rubber cable that catches on your mousepad etc is an annoying hindrance.
-------------------------------
SOFTWARE:
The software feels complete and bug-free. It is slightly annoying that I have to download it through the Microsoft store but otherwise no complaints.
-------------------------------
EXTRAS:
The mouse feet/skates are virgin-grade PTFE. The skates are big enough and HyperX includes an extra set in the box which is very nice to see. Also included is "grip tape" that you attach to the sides of the mouse for extra grip. I haven't tried this yet because I find the grip adequate without the grip tape. This mouse also has a 2-year warranty.
-------------------------------
SUGGESTIONS ON POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS:
This is more directed to HyperX if. I would like to see an improved scroll wheel that's easier to click and has more defined bumps per scroll. The side buttons and DPI buttons also need work. This is a personal opinion but the FinalMouse Ultralight 2 is a perfect example of how buttons should feel, defined and clicky. Also, a wireless version of this mouse would be great to see. Otherwise, I think this is a very solid mouse and I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially at the $56 price I paid.
-------------------------------
In terms of hand feel, the Pulsefire Haste is fantastic. For reference, I have a 19.5cm hand length and use a claw grip. The Haste has a less pronounced bump on the back compared to the Model O, G Pro and Aerox 3, which for me makes it very comfortable to hold in claw. At my size, its a little bit small to palm grip, but with a slightly shorter hand length I think it would feel great to palm. It's not as contoured along the sides as the Aerox or Model O which means I have to hold it a littler tighter, but it has a very durable feel and very little side flex (even under considerable pressure) to make up for that. It also has a slightly textured finish with helps make it naturally grippy. Admittedly, my hands get clammy after a while if I'm gaming, but with that finish I find the Haste stays more comfortable compared to the Model O or G Pro, which have a smooth finish and can get uncomfortable to hold over time. The biggest ergo issue I have is the placement of the side buttons. I wish they were like, 4mm back because I feel like my thumb is reaching to get the front button. Overall though, the feel of this mouse is great.
In terms of aesthetics, I personally find the mouse a little boring looking, but that is entirely for subjective reasons and I don't mind flashy peripherals. The only branding is a small HyperX logo on the left side in silver, so its not really stark against the black finish. & The only RGB is on the scroll wheel which is a drawback for me but probably a huge plus to some. I'm pretty sure you can change the lighting with the software too which is always nice. Overall, it looks pretty plain, but depending on your tastes that might be perfect!
Looking at some other features:
- I should mention that the feet on the mouse feel amazing. They glide nicely with minimal resistance, and out of the box there was noticeably a lot less friction than other mice I have tried.
- The paracord is light and very flexible, but I have to say it feels a bit cheaper than others I have seen (M42, Sirius M). It's not bad by any stretch, but I have seen better in this price range for sure.
- The software support is a massive plus for me. Allows you to adjust the mouse settings as well as RGB control. I think the potential for fine-tuning is a great feature objectively, even though I use the preset 800dpi almost exclusively lol.
Overall, I think this is an extremely good mouse for the price. Compared to other mice in the mid tier price range of $50 - $80, and honestly some above that, I think the Haste is best in class and entirely justified if you have the money to spend. Really the only thing that would warrant you buying something more expensive, IMO, is wireless capability.
You will not be sorry with this mouse - with a wireless option, (which I'm pretty sure is coming sometime in 2022) I could easily see this becoming my #1.
OVERALL: 4.7/5
However, the performance for me (on Mac) was not great: the cursor would "stall" or "stutter" during use. I went to HyperX's website and found out that it makes no claims to support Mac. No driver downloads, no documentation. So if it's not perfectly compatible with Mac, I don't think it's the company's fault (the magazine article was simply wrong).
It does work on the Mac, but because of the jittery performance, it's hard to recommend for gaming no Mac.
On the plus side, the mouse is pretty nice! I hope one day HyperX supports Mac!
Pros: very light! comes with grippy side stickers and smooth skate stickers
Cons: I was originally searching for a "silent" mouse when the article popped up, but this mouse's buttons are not silent. not super-loud, but not silent
Also very accurate and easy to use.
