So I went from 32 inches 165 hz 1080p viewsonic to this one. First impressions. Note the pics are done with my phone and they are not actual screenshots but it can give you impression how good it looks just with a phone , its amazing irl- amazing picture quality- have no physical damage or tech issues such as ghosting/smearing or flickering- OC to 160hz was fairly ez needed to adjust amd drivers , windows settings then directly from the monitor- I believe its easy to adjust to curved especially if you had one its slightly curved not too much not flat either for me its perfect- You do need good pc to enjoy it for gaming . (i got rx strix 6900 xt , ryzen 5800x and 32 gb 3600 mhz ram ) I run all the games on ultra on high fpsSo far Ive tried rpgs , racing , fps Im sure its pretty decent for rts too havent had to run age of empires 4 . Most my games are supported for full resolutionI dont notice contrast issues that they say for IPS , but im only gaming havent had time to video or photo editing but im sure its fine. I didnt need to calibrate it since i dont know how to do it but i got a film engineer friend who can . You can also google or youtube but i believe it comes out of the factory well calibrated unless unluckyThe only two things that i noticed so far since i have it less than a week , stand wobbles when I type on my keyboard which is not a big deal ( my desk is very very sturdy one ) If its annoys me more ill get Vesa mount for it . Second thing i was playing division 2 and one of the times i alt tab ( i alt tab alot ) my contrast messed up and it felt like hdr disappeared . Nothing fixed until i restarted the pcSomething about the HDR , i dont have HDR 10 nor i know how it should look but i love the semi HDR on this monitor everything looks vivid and clear .Overall very satisfied . No major issues yet , knock on wood. Amazing for gaming if you never moved from 1080 p and you have good pc to run 3440 x1440 p , give it a try . I hope this monitor lasts especially since warranty is not big and ppl diss LG' qc . So far Im loving it . !

So there are quite a few reviews saying that when they got their monitor, they have a dead pixel or two. So as soon as I got mine, I checked it and lucked out because my monitor was perfect. I had to change the setting from the monitor control to get the 160hz that this monitor advertises right away. Great picture quality and display real estate. This is my first time using a 21:9 and it didn't take that long for me to get used to. Got pretty lucky as I got mine brand new on sale for only $800. A lot of the prices available are usally used or refurbished. The dark blacks that people nitpick don't really matter as mine barely have any in the corners. A lot of the problems people post are if only you are nitpicky and always looking for issues. But if you're a casual user, you will barely see them.

Pros
- 160Hz is nice
- more display real estate
- 2k resolution
- easy to use monitor controls
- good for gaming
-good for movies obviously
-easy installation
-solid stand (height and tilt adjustments only)
-G-Sync/Freesync compatible

Cons
- Price is a little steep
- takes a lot of desks pace if you have a small table
- you need a good GPU to use the 2k 160hz

If you don't mind getting a less colour accuracy, I would suggest getting a VA panel with the same specs to save you $300-$500. But if you have money to spend and would like to get the best possible monitor at this specs and better colour accuracy and refresh rate, this is a bang for your buck buy.

I adored this while I had it, sadly I had to return it as I messed up measuring for my work area and it just wasn't gonna fit with everything else I have.

If you are looking for something as your primary and don't have other monitors you have to harmonize with this is a beast of a panel.
The colours were deep and vibrant.
The response time in full screen borderless with Destiny 2, Satisfactory, Elite Dangerous, and Star Citizen was perfect imho, I didn't feel any input lag, nor stutters.

I'll note that for a GPU I have the XFX Merc 319 RX6700XT and for CPU a R7 3800X.
I didn't run too much tests with the others but in Destiny 2 even with a upscale to the next step up of ultrawide (3840 x 1600) with super-resolution I was easily having 70 to 110 FPS.

Other content from daily driving and mieda were great on this once I sized my browser appropriately.
I barely noticed any IPS glow nor had any issues with setting it up.
No dead or lagged pixels.

Amazon was super easy to deal with when having to return it, part of why I bought with the option that was being listed/sold by them.

Honestly wish I could have kept it but it just wasn't gonna work for my setup, physically and digitally for now. If I could have found some stupid inexpensive (under 100) 1440p panels to replace some of my older gear then it might have sorted out but for now I'll just re-add it to my wishlist and plan for a future time.

It's absolutely true what the other reviewer said about the quality control. I did not look very closely upon its arrival but I noticed a dead pixel in just under 2 weeks of use (not sure if it's there on arrival).

Returned the first one and got a second one. Spent 10 mins staring at a white background on arrival, no dead pixel. Now exactly one week later still not dead pixel yet (fingers crossed).

The monitor itself, absolutely fantastic for office multitask use, and no compromise for gaming (high refresh rate, good resolution, bright, colour accuracte and fast esponse time)

Lackluster HDR is the only con so far. However I bought this monitor knowing that fact so it doesn't really bother me. I have a TV and a secondary 4k screen for media consumption.

Buying this for 950cad on sale is absolutely amazing, the closes competing product which come with full of comprises will set you back just under $800cad so the extra 150ish is well worth it.
A 5 star product if it weren't for the quality control issue and lackluster HDR.
Will adjust my review if stuck or dead pixel appears.

5.0 out of 5 stars Immersive Gaming Experience
Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2023
Style: Nano IPS PanelVerified Purchase
The LG UltraGear QHD 34-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor has proven to be an exceptional addition to my gaming setup, offering a truly immersive experience that elevates my gameplay to new heights.

The ultra-wide WQHD resolution with a 21:9 aspect ratio is a game-changer, providing a vast field of view that allows me to see more on-screen. This curved monitor pulls me right into the heart of the action, making every gaming session feel more engaging and thrilling.

One of the standout features of this monitor is its overclocked 160Hz refresh rate with 1-millisecond Motion Blur Reduction (MBR). This combination delivers incredibly smooth visuals and significantly reduces blur and ghosting, ensuring that I can respond to opponents with lightning-fast precision.

The VESA DisplayHDR 400 high dynamic range compatibility and 99% sRGB color accuracy breathe life into virtual worlds, enhancing textures, character movements, and lighting with stunningly accurate colors. However, I did notice that sometimes the colors appeared a bit off, which may require some calibration adjustments on my end.

The NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium technologies work seamlessly with compatible video cards to virtually eliminate screen tearing and minimize stutter, resulting in a fluid gaming experience. These features contribute to a more enjoyable and responsive gameplay, particularly in high-resolution and fast-paced games.

The Dynamic Action Sync is a useful addition, reducing input lag and helping me respond quickly to on-screen action. Additionally, the Black Stabilizer enhances visibility in darker scenes, making it easier to spot enemies lurking in the shadows. The Crosshair feature also aids my accuracy during intense firefights.

Despite the monitor's outstanding performance, I encountered an issue with the initial unit I received, as it arrived broken. However, Amazon's excellent customer service allowed me to return it for a full refund. Subsequently, I purchased this monitor brand new from another outlet, and I'm delighted to say that the new unit is performing flawlessly.

In conclusion, the LG UltraGear QHD 34-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor is a top-notch choice for gamers seeking an immersive and responsive gaming experience. While I had a slight hiccup with the initial unit, the monitor's impressive features and capabilities more than make up for it. I highly recommend this monitor to fellow gaming enthusiasts looking to elevate their gaming sessions to a whole new level.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's the monitor that actually does what it says
Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2022
Style: Nano IPS PanelVerified Purchase
The monitor specs are quite clear and fortunately there are many good YouTube videos unboxing and demonstrating what it's capable of doing so I don't speak about them. I didn't purchase this monitor for gaming even though I did played some high FPS and HDR games on it just to test it out. It does exactly what it says and that's why I gave it five stars. The HDR capabilities are quite bold and practical. It works perfectly with windows 11 while the display is set to always HDR. The refresh rate works like a charm and the picture quality is close to fantastic which is why I use it (video editing & designing). The contrast is that high that it really bothers my eyes if I lock at the white screen display even though it's only a HDR 400 certified.
If you use the monitor to watch HDR streaming contract, be happy that HDR would be automatically picked by the streamers as the default. I bought a VESA desk mount but I didn't see any use for that because the monitor has a very practical and pretty stand. For the settings out of the box, you might need to spend some time to get the monitor screen and other functionalities based on your preferences but it's super initiative and easy with user friendly menus adjustable by one single small joystick located at the back side of the screen. This monitor is not the best of it's class but for the price and such quality, it's definitely worth buying even more so if you happen to buy it while it's discounted (as I did, thx to Amazon). Delivery of the monitor was nice and fast as usual (someone knocked the door and handed to me after singneture). I haven't checked the color accuracy because I was super happy with the outcome I set it up and compare to my reference monitor at work (Benq), the picture quality is superb (the Benq is a 4K monitor and almost two times more expensive).
Would I recommend this monitor? Definitely yes, if you can afford it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the Price
Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2024

I was looking at Ultrawides for awhile and honestly I’m happy with this. It’s a solid monitor and doesn’t break the bank while having good picture quality (i recommend the gamer 1 setting for just about everything).

Yes if you are on console it does stretch out the image alittle but it isn’t that bad plus I decided to try out an Amazon fire stick on this (while paring it with external speakers) and honestly it’s pretty dam good. Its no OLED but it also doesn’t need to be so if you are curious about how it functions while watching various streaming services then I find that it performs pretty dam good. The picture quality is sharp and I can watch movies and tv shows right at my desk set up and not feel like I have to relocate to the living room tv. Yea OLEDs and stuff are good for your big budget movie tittles but if you want to just game alittle and then just kick back and watch some stuff then this performs pretty dam good.

Honestly it’s a smart purchase for anyone looking to get into ultrawides and you might not want another one anyway after getting this. It checks all the boxes for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best monitor I have ever owned
Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2024

Recently decided to upgrade from a 23” 1920x1080 monitor, needed a bigger screen for work. I was worried about the curved screen, as the curve on some monitors can be too much. After using this screen for over a month, it has been the best investment I have made for my setup. The curve is not overwhelming, the NanoIPS screen is amazing, and there is practically zero ghosting. The monitor stand that comes with allows for easy adjustment, way better than others on the market. Totally worth the price, and I will not need to upgrade for a very long time.
