This is the second Sonicare DiamondClean that I own. The first one unfortunately got lost with my luggage and it was easily the thing I missed the most. It's a sleek looking toothbrush, it does toothbrush things, we all know what a toothbrush is and does.

However! This one shines in a few different places. First and foremost, if you tell your dentist you have a Sonicare toothbrush, they will immediately think better of you. Secondly, the 2 minute timer and break up into quarter is great. I tried the app, it's very gimmicky, but the timer that is built into the toothbrush itself is amazing. We all know we are supposed to brush our teeth for 2 minutes, but do we really know what 2 minutes are? I don't. But my toothbrush does, which is all that matters. And lastly, the travel case is great for, well, travelling. It's easy to bring the toothbrush with you on the go, the battery lasts a long time and if you are staying for even longer somewhere, it has a handy USB cable to charge it from within the carrying case.

It's pricey, but then again you can't put a price on maintaining your body. Also you get quite a bit bang for your buck. I wouldn't go as far as saying this makes tooth brushing fun, but it does make it easier and I feel better about it. If this one gets lost again or dies, I will buy another one in a heartbeat.

Philips Sonicare is recommended by my dentistt and I couldn't be happier with it and the results. I highly recommend it.

This one has an app and I'm getting used to that but it does let you know if you are using too much pressure or scrubbing when you shouldn't.

Pros:
- a decent toothbrush which does cleaning job well, it visibly reduced amount of plaque after just 5-7 days
- good quality brush heads - so far no discomfort, bleeding or damaging effect to enamel and gums
- sleek design, nice to touch
- includes all the necessities (2 toothbrush heads, case)

Cons:
- pricey considering that not everyone is able to use or need all the blows and whistles this product has (like the app - see another comment below)
- could not find a user's manual and faq (I do not mean the feature list or obscure video tutorials) on the manufacturer's website (only for an older discontinued version).
- the app works only after creation of a user account with Philips and agreeing to all privacy and data requirements from the vendor which is weird.
- the brush cup could be deeper, as the brush is quite heavy and may topple if not positioned in a perfectly flat surface

The toothbrush works great though I only use the deep clean setting, so the other settings are kind of useless for me.

The wireless charging station is quite handy and if you are concerned about the glass cup, it also comes with a plastic one.

The travel case also charges the toothbrush when you plug the USB cord in, which is located on the underside of the case.

The app needs more customization options, for example if you have missing teeth, bridges ect., but it great for tracking your brushing habits.

Overall it's a great brush, but if you arent interested in the app, I'd suggest the model one step below this one.

Also the brush head replacements are definitely more expensive then your cheapy spin brush replacement.

The toothbrush cleans incredibly well in my opinion, I came from a spin brush pro, and I can definitely say this brush easily out performs it. No more scrubbing motions really gave my gums a break.

In conclusion, I was a bit skeptical about the vibrating toothbrushes ability to clean teeth, but my worries were put to rest quickly. I definitely recommend this brush for anyone who is using a rotating bristle toothbrush. You can definitely feel the difference on just your first use!

So, I must be stupid. This is the THIRD Sonicare brush I've had in my house. I originally bought a fairly basic - not the cheapest but far from the greatest one to try it out. That lasted a couple of years before the brush head attachment stick mechanism just gave up (lost all tensions, so the brush head flopped against the base, was completely useless). I was a bit disappointed, but as my wife had the absolute cheapest Sonicare and that last lasted a bit over a year, I figured maybe they build their higher end brushes better, since the reviews have been generally positive.

I should have seen the red flags: that the design and the way they manufacture them these days is flawed. I say that because some friends with very old sonicare brushes seem to be doing fine - I'm not sure what they changed or where they cut cost, but never again.

I bought the higher-end set here HOPING that it would be better built and last a few years. It is now March 27, 2024. I have had this thing for less than six months. In that time:
- It has stopped reliably working with the app (no longer senses when it's being used)
- The pressure sensor broke and no longer functions
- The brush heads are going floppy / loose again, completely ruining the brush.

To be clear, I have babied this thing to try to keep it alive - always paid attention to the pressure feedback from the brush, and other than getting used to it the first week, I have never had it tell me off for applying too much pressure or anything else. I was very careful replacing the brush heads too - none of this mattered at all, the thing still went wonky after six months.

I'm not even bothering to warranty it - if the third brush fails early, it must be the brush or my mouth is just inherently incompatible with this style of electric toothbrush. I'm switching to a competitor - spare yourself the trouble and skip right to that. I'm permanently done with Sonicare, and honestly probably other Phillips products in general - my wife has now been using the competitor's brush for a while (she switched right after her sonicare died) - NO ISSUES.
