A slick product and clearly best on market for the price
The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K was the third of three devices I bought this month to stream Bell Fibe TV on my television, and it performed by far the best. A more expensive Windows-based mini-computer lacked performance and resulted in a clearly lagging picture. An Android 10 TV Box played some content on free apps well, but only displayed a HDCP (anti-piracy protocol) error message when I tried the Bell Fibe TV app. It took a long time to turn on and periodically stopped working. By contrast, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K has been absolutely fabulous from the start, and I will have a hard time not gushing about the product. It arrived nicely packaged with a USB corded power cord, the stick body, a remote control, instructions, and even two AAA batteries for insertion in the remote control. The setup was extremely easy since I already had an Amazon account. The unit apparently comes already registered if you bought the product through Amazon.ca. This was clearly my case, and it was merely a matter of proceeding through onscreen steps that synchronized the unit with the television (through the volume controls), asked if parental controls should be set, and introduced some of the other Amazon services available through the unit. The remote control uses Alexa voice recognition for vocal commands that can turn on the television and search for content and open apps by pressing one button, as well as the manual buttons and toggle for navigation. Apps such as Bell Fibe TV and CBC Gem are downloaded free through Amazon, though recorded as a purchase on the account. The quality of the picture on the television is exceptionally clear and crisp, and puts the Android 10 TV box to shame. The Bell Fibe TV is easy to open and use on the Amazon fire stick, though the default is mostly Amazon content. For example, when asking Alexa for movies, one is immediately taken to Amazon Prime, instead of Crave or HBO, which are Bell-provided services. To get best use out of the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, one should probably have a membership in Amazon Prime and the company no doubt pushes you in that direction constantly. There have been some privacy concerns raised about Amazon's collection of personal data on usage and sharing with other third parties. It is hard to see how one can avoid that with this integrated and very seductive device. Alexa has a very pleasing voice that delivers a remarkably convenient experience that essentially turns my living room HD TV into a smart television filtered through the Amazon universe, intent on tracking and influencing my consumerism. No wonder the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is a market leader with its careful balance between technology, design, and practical utility. Amazon stands to profit. I am very satisfied with this device and highly recommend the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K to anyone looking for a high quality streaming device with many extra features, rolled into an affordable price under $70. And did I mention free shipping.....

I've been using android boxes throughout my home for several years now, since deciding to "cut the cable". Recently, the android box in our bedroom decided to bite the dust.
While shopping for a replacement, I came across the 4K Fire TV Stick and decided to give it a try...

Included in the box:
- 4K Fire TV Stick
- Power Adapter w/ USB-to-micro cable
- HDMI Extender Cable (for best Wi-Fi reception)
- Remote (Alexa Voice enabled) w/ 2 AAA batteries
- Documents/Booklets (Quick Start guide, product info, warranty etc.)

The first thing I noticed once opening the package was it's small size, slightly larger than a thumb drive and plugs directly into an available HDMI port. This eliminates the need of running another HDMI cable and frees up space on the TV stand, table, mantle or in our case the dresser.

Setup could not be any easier!
Simply connect the Power Adapter to the 4K Fire TV Stick using the included USB Cable. Plug the 4K Fire TV Stick into an available HDMI port and the Power Adapter into a wall outlet. Once powered, I was greeted with several easy to follow onscreen prompts to setup Wi-Fi, timezone, pair the remote to TV etc. and allow the Stick to update. Once the updates were complete, the Stick will reboot. The entire process only took approx. 5 mins.

Once initial setup was complete, I was brought to the main screen. The UI is very nicely laid out and easily navigated. There are several apps already listed such as Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ etc. You can customize this layout by adding and/or removing apps of which may or may not be of interest to you.
You can set a password and customize parental controls to block access to specific apps, ratings and purchases.

The 4K Fire TV Stick works perfectly! It is very responsive in navigation, opens apps quickly and streams video with no issues at all. I was initially concerned about Wi-Fi reception as our router is on a different level/floor in our home, but the 4K Fire TV Stick has no problem picking up my Wi-Fi and streams perfectly. Great video quality and virtually no buffer! Much better than my previous android box.

The remote is a perfect size and fits comfortably in hand. The selection of buttons are that of typical media players, Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, a circular navigation/select, Home, etc.
The 4K Fire TV Stick Remote also has the addition of Power On/Off, Volume UP/Down and Mute buttons, which allow us control over other devices such as TV, Receiver, Soundbar etc.. This is a great feature, as it can eliminate the need for multiple remotes.
Then ofcourse, we have Alexa Voice. With a simple press(Hold) of the microphone button, you can easily launch apps, find and control movies and TV shows etc. all with your voice. Alexa can also give updates on time, weather, news etc... the possibilities seem "almost" endless. I haven't used this feature too much so far, but when I have it has worked perfectly.

While there is lots of free content available on the 4K Fire TV Stick, I primarily use it for Prime Video, Netflix, etc.
Prime Video is a great service with tons of great movies and TV shows... best of all, its FREE for Amazon Prime members! In my opinion, the cost of Amazon Prime + 4K Fire TV Stick basically pays for itself due to the FREE Prime Video!

The 4K Fire TV Stick has exceeded my expectations and I'm extremely pleased with the device! ★★★★★
